From May through August, an exciting lineup of exhibitions, public art installations, and a major rock concert will fuel a fun and dynamic schedule of programming, inspiring us to call 2018 the Summer of AK. This landmark exhibition provides an in-depth exploration of Robert Indiana: one of America s best known but least understood artists. Giant Steps: Artists and the 1960s Artists of the 1960s protested against convention by incorporating popular themes, motifs, and subjects into their artwork and exploring new mediums. More than a half century later, this exhibition revisits the vivacious imaginings of this compelling epoch. Albright-Knox Public Art Initiative Murals An array of internationally renowned mural artists will take to Buffalo s streets this summer and enrich our community s shared landscape with outsize creations to inspire and delight our neighborhoods.
