HOW CAN YOU HELP
Simon thinks his attendance of 90% is pretty good, so do his parents. Are they actually right? 90% attendance = ½ day missed Would your boss like you to be off work this much???? Absent ½ day every week
Lets look a little closer 1 school year at 90% attendance = 4 whole weeks of lessons missed 38 weeks of school Absent for 4 weeks
Provide a workspace Help organise their time Ensure they have breaks & planned afternoons/evenings off Show interest but don t interrogate! Contact school for updates/with concerns
Mock exams are an opportunity to practice and should be taken seriously! These take place regularly in some subjects and give us an indication of progress! Gives us something to build upon and to make forecast grade Can be used for application forms
