REVISED MOTHER TONGUE LANGUAGE Desired Outcomes Pupils to be able to use their MTL for effective communication. Pupils to understand and develop their unique identity through a deeper appreciation of culture, traditions, literature and history. The majority of pupils to attain a good/high level of competency in MTL, in both speech and writing.

APPROACH TO TEACHING AND LEARNING Mother Tongue Remediation Day/ Time : Thursdays / 2.00pm 3.00pm Level : Pri 5 & Pri 6 only (Malay Language) Remedial lessons are conducted for selected pupils to help them bridge their learning gaps. Teachers will review pupils progress termly to decide if the child needs to continue with remedial lessons

Encourage your child to read MT books/ Read to your child Encourage your child to speak in your MTL Help your child with her daily works Help to prepare your child for weekly spelling. Purchase a MTL Dictionary for your child (Pictorial Dictionary) Check your child s notebook for daily homework and teacher s notes to parents. Check pupils bags and files regularly. Ensure that your child completes her homework and hand them in promptly.
