Pearson Scholarship Application New Student 1. General information 1.1 Submission dates The deadlines for submission of applications must be strictly adhered to. Applications must be submitted to the relevant campus for review and recommendations. The campus Pearson Scholarship Committee will forward the application to the national Pearson Scholarship Committee for final approval. Application form to be submitted to the campus by 19 th January 2018. No late applications will be considered. 1.2 Qualifying candidates Applications for bursaries are considered only from South African citizens who intend to study full time towards qualifications on offer at any of the Pearson Institute/CTI campuses. The applicant must meet the minimum entrance requirements for the specific qualification he or she wishes to study and have obtained a senior certificate or equivalent school leaving certificate, accompanied by a SAQA certificate of equivalence and/or USAF exemption certificate. A student who enrols for special courses, short learning programmes, Higher Certificate, or Foundation programmes does not qualify for these awards. The application is only for new students who have not previously studied at Pearson Institute or CTI. Students must have a Pearson Student Number to apply for a scholarship (which will be received on successful application to PIHE/CTI). 1.3 Submitting your Pearson Scholarship application form Scholarships are awarded on a year-to-year basis and an application has to be submitted every year. 1.4 Process Application forms with incomplete information will be disqualified. No faxed application forms will be accepted. Read carefully before completing, signing or submitting this form and ensure that this form is completed in full. Submit completed forms (or hand deliver) to your respective campus Applications received after the closing date will not be considered. 1.6 Criteria The awards will be made at the sole discretion of Pearson, based on the following criteria: 1. The candidate passed all subjects on the Grade 12 Certificate with 50% or above (Rating score 4). 2. Only six subjects with the highest rating (excluding Life Orientation) shall be taken into consideration. 3. Candidates need to have met the admission requirements for the qualification they wish to study. 4. Application rankings will be determined by the average percentage of the rating score obtained on the Grade 12 certificate( or equivalent school leaving certificate) 5. Attending a panel interview may be required.
