Lovejoy Independent School District Tuition-Based Enrollment Guidelines The Lovejoy Independent School District (LISD) is accepting out of district transfers through the Tuition-Based Enrollment program. Tuition-Based Enrollment is a program which allows children, who do not live within LISD s boundaries, an opportunity to apply for enrollment to attend schools in LISD. Tuition for students accepted through the Tuition-Based Enrollment program is $9,000 for elementary (K-6) and $11,000 for secondary (7-12) for the full school year. Payment or half payment is due prior to the first day of school. To guarantee placement, following approval, a $1,000 non-refundable deposit is due. The deposit will be applied to the tuition. Following the first day of attendance in the LISD, tuition will be non-refundable. There will be a non-refundable $100 Assessment Fee for students in grades K-3 paid directly to LISD. Applicants in grades 4-12 who do not have passing TAKS/STAAR/ISEE scores will pay a fee in order to take the required online assessment. CAMPUS ASSIGNMENT LISD will accept applications for grade levels kindergarten (K) through 12th grade for schools based on campus capacity. The number of openings for transfer students is limited. The District will determine which school the transfer student will attend. Campus assignments cannot be appealed. TRANSPORTATION LISD does not provide transportation to and from school for transfer students. APPLICATION PROCESS To request Tuition-Based Enrollment, parents must complete the Tuition-Based Enrollment Application Form. The form is available on the District website and in the Superintendent s Office, LISD Administration Building, 259 Country Club Road, Allen, TX 75002.

APPROVAL PROCESS Transfer applications will be processed on a first-come basis and considered independently at the time of their request by the Superintendent or designee. APPLICATION TIMELINE LISD will accept applications for Tuition-Based Enrollment until seats are filled. NOTIFICATION OF APPROVAL/DENIAL Parents will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance of their application. The communication will specify the campus the student has been approved to attend. Campus assignments cannot be appealed. STUDENT CRITERIA FOR APPROVAL 95% attendance for each class for the previous school year Passing all classes currently and for the last semester completed Passed all portions of their latest state mandated test/assessment exam Students from home school, private school, or non-accredited school must show satisfactory scores on standardized achievement test and/or successful achievement on district-delivered academic test No serious infractions on the disciplinary record for the previous school year ANNUAL VS. CONTINUING TUITION-BASED ENROLLMENT Transfers are approved for one school year only under Texas Education Code requirements. All students applying under the Tuition-Based Enrollment program must reapply and qualify annually. FACTORS CONSIDERED IN APPROVAL Factors considered in the Tuition-Based Enrollment application include, but are not limited to: building capacity, current program or campus enrollment, growth projections, grade level enrollments, teacher allocations, professional staff allocations, and the student s academic, behavior and attendance history.

UIL All UIL rules regarding student eligibility for competition will be followed. Approval of a Tuition- Based Enrollment transfer does not verify the student s eligibility for competition under UIL rules. Students in athletics who move from one high school to another are ineligible for varsity competition for one year by UIL rules unless the UIL grants a residency waiver. Students may not transfer for athletic purposes. Students may participate in athletics below the varsity level upon enrollment in LISD as a transfer student. Students who participate in UIL athletics must verify eligibility through the District Athletic Director. All required paperwork and documentation must be provided in order for the student to be considered for participation in athletics in LISD. REVOKING TRANSFER Transfer students must follow all LISD rules and regulations, including but not limited to, district policies and regulations, the Student Code of Conduct, and attendance requirements. Students who transfer into the district may have their enrollment revoked if the student does not adhere to all policies and regulations or based on poor attendance, excessive tardiness, or inappropriate student behavior. I also understand a transfer may be denied and/or non-renewed by LISD for, but not limited to, the following reasons as determined by LISD: 1. Disciplinary reasons (in school-or outside school) 2. Excessive tardiness or absences 3. Falsification of enrollment information 4. Failure to provide timely transportation 5.
