This programme is dedicated to helping students improve their level of whilst also preparing for state exams. Having worked as a teacher in Ireland, I understand what is expected of Irish students at both Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate levels. Our aim in CSS is to give students the best possible opportunity to help improve their language and fluency while being completely immersed in life. All our teachers have an in-depth knowledge of the Irish curriculum and know what is expected at both Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate level. We are unique in that we are a language school in Spain that offers classes specifically tailored to the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate exam. Students will learn in a fun, relaxed environment while also getting to absorb the culture, sights and sounds of the amazing city of, Spain! Junior cycle Senior cycle es for students studying in the junior cycle will have a primary role of making fun and enjoyable while keeping the Irish curriculum at the forefront of our class plans. es at junior level will cover key topics such as: Vocabulary building Sentence construction Reading comprehensions Letter and email writing Aural practice Our classes are designed to be fun and engaging and a big emphasis is put on general language learning in class. At the same time, students will receive practical Junior Certificate examination techniques and tips. Students on the senior cycle will experience classes that are exam focused but also fun and exciting. es at senior level will cover key topics such as: oral Aural practice Letter & email writing Reading journalistic texts Writing short notes Diary entries These are the key topics that students encounter on the Leaving Certificate paper and these are at the centre of each class plan. We also make sure to leave plenty of time for activities. All students on either course will be studying the four main skills of language learning reading, writing, speaking and listening along with developing their grammar and vocabulary. The main focus of our classes is to develop students ability to communicate and to activate their existing knowledge of. Timetable Academics: Students are placed into classes focused on either the Junior Certificate or Leaving Certificate programme. There is a weekly test every Friday. Students receive a certificate and end of course report card after completing the course. Excursions: es: Students study for three hours every morning. es are taught by qualified native language teachers. There is a maximum number of 12 students per class. Morning Sunday Monday Arrival in sunny Spain, transfer to host family. Induction Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Full day excursion with packed lunch. Free day Students go on a full day Saturday excursion every week. Excursions include places such as the City Of Arts and Sciences or to experience the thrill and fun of roller coasters at Terra Mitica near Alicante! Packed lunch provided by host family Afternoon Orientation tour of Evening Dinner: Weekly Test Cultural visit and cinema Sports on the beach / arts and crafts River bed walk/ cultural visit Free time to explore the city Students can participate in a variety of activites on the beach. These include beach volleyball, swimming, running and football. Dinner with host family After a day of classes and afternoon leisure and culture activities, students return home to dine with their host families. In Spain families tend to eat dinner later in the evening around 9 p.m. This offers students another opportunity to engage in conversation and experience true hospitality. 3 Centre of Studies www.cssvalencia.com Location of school: Our classes are held in a local language centre, located north of the river bed. The neighbourhood is a lively, vibrant area with plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and parks. All our classrooms are fully equipped with modern educational technology. Sports on the beach: Culture: Sample cultural activities include a paella making class, flamenco dancing, walking tours of s historic city and visits to its internationally renowned museums and cultural centres. It has a wide variety of sporting facilities such as football pitches and baseball diamonds. It is a very popular recreational area that stretches through the centre of, and is the perfect destination for people to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city streets. Old city: s historic centre is located in the heart of. Containing the cathedral, town hall and central market, this area is the liveliest part of the city especially during the summer months with plenty of things to see and do. City of Arts and Sciences: The city of Arts and Sciences is a major tourist attraction in.
