Throughout your education at Delaware County Community College you are exposed to fine minds who not only mentor you, but also challenge you to think in ways you never have before. Isaac, from Ghana, Student Commencement Speaker I believe that applying to study at DCCC was one of the best and most rewarding decisions I have made in my life. I have made a lot of friends who I still talk to after going back home to Germany. I always got help and felt welcomed at the International student office, and I gained an enormous amount of knowledge during my two years of studying. I had great professors and learned a lot from them. For instance, I could never have thought that statistics could be fun and it was. I am especially grateful for the all the English classes, where I learned the grammar and articulation of the English language. Jennifer, from Germany

"DCCC is the new start of my life. Don t worry if you are applying for colleges but still confused about your major. DCCC lets you figure out your real passion and go for it anytime. Believe me. I have experienced many fields and now I am satisfied with my major. Moreover, DCCC brings me closer to friends from different cultures, so I learn a lot of interesting things about the diverse world. Yes, it is where you can totally enjoy college life as well as fulfill your dream. Play hard, work hard, and hit your success in DCCC!" Ngoc, from Vietnam My college life at DCCC was incredible and priceless. Besides academic work, I have done varsity sports, club activities, work study, and many other activities that gave me valuable experiences. My most important experience was working at the International Student Services office, which gave me invaluable work experience and connections. Although I m moving on to the next step in my academic and professional career, my time at DCCC helped me prepare for my future. George, from South Korea

I love my professors at DCCC. They are very knowledgeable in their respective fields and know how to motivate and inspire me to learn and engage in class. I particularly enjoy the rigor of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) courses, and the STEM building itself! Gregory, originally from Peru I have made many American friends being on the basketball team. Now I am the captain. Joining a sports team is very rewarding and it helps you develop skills that you can use the rest of your life. Seiya, from Japan Getting to know other international students and learning from great faculty and staff made me feel well-prepared to transfer to Drexel University. I was awarded a Dean s Scholarship and my credits transferred easily towards my bachelor s degree. Today, I work as a financial analyst for one of the largest U.S. banks JP Morgan Chase & Co. Irena, from Serbia

The key piece of advice I can give to students is to network, network, and network. The college experience provides many new relationships both academic and social so you should take the time to stay in touch. These relationships can lead to many new opportunities. Esther, from Macau, recipient of the College s Rising Star Award "I truly believe I found myself at DCCC. After high school I had an idea of what career I wanted to pursue, but DCCC made me realize what I was really passionate about. After being on the Dean's list for a few semesters, I finally decided it was time to transfer and I successfully transferred to Philadelphia University. DCCC helped me grow and feel prepared as a college student." Alessandra, originally from Peru

Before starting the first semester, I was worried about the language barrier. But my worry disappeared because all my professors were concerned and taught me with examples that I could understand. They also gave me more personal attention. I knew the information, but I was worried that I couldn t express it. The professors were patient, they listened, and they gave me time to express that knowledge. If you work hard, the professor will know that you are working hard. They will try to take better care of you. Our school can help you to achieve your dreams. Jun, from South Korea Studying abroad is a big chance of my life and DCCC is the place where I make my dream come true. DCCC gives me so many opportunities to figure out my major and lets me experience several fields before making up my mind. Furthermore, DCCC opened the next chapter of my life by bringing many chances to meet and make friends with many students from all over the world, and experience different cultures. DCCC helps me so I can enjoy my college life and reach my goal as well. Linh, from Vietnam (right)

There are a lot of good things I can say about DCCC, but I would say the International Student Office was always happy to help students. The Career, Counseling, and Transfer Center helped me find the way I should go. DCCC is the right place to study, make friends, have fun, and prepare for next stage. Takeshi, from Japan, at a Philadelphia Phillies baseball game I am transferring to Drexel University. Delaware County has helped me a lot in preparing to transfer. Not only does it have a group of great and friendly staff members who will help you every step of the way during your education and during the transfer process, but also the various clubs and activities on campus will prepare you for the campus life that awaits you in a bigger university. I am receiving about 50% off of the total tuition at Drexel as a result of the Dean s and Phi Theta Kappa scholarships, and all of my credits transferred successfully. Angela, from Indonesia The College has good services, such as Learning Commons, and tutors for those who need help with their writing. The College also has lounge areas with many computers for studying and relaxing after class. Besides that, my friends and I have great time together at the cafeteria. I am very happy and enjoy my college life at DCCC. Ngan Trinh, on a visit to New York City

Delaware County Community College was really good for me. One of the best things about it is that I had a lot of chances to talk to my advisors and professors directly. It was easy to ask them questions contact them. George Washington University is a really, really big school. I thought I could meet a lot of people, but it is harder here than at Delaware County. Young Jic, from South Korea The way Delaware County Community College treats international students is great. They facilitate things for you. The College offers programs and services that are accessible and comprehensive. Everyone makes you feel at home. Elena, from Peru Since coming here, I am more open-minded because I ve seen a lot of things that we don t have in Vietnam. I ve met a lot of people who are always there for me and have really encouraged me. I feel like I can reach my dreams here. Ahn, from Vietnam

"I made a lot of friends and had great instructors. I was able to do an internship at the College s Administrative Computing Department." Andrew, from Tanzania What I enjoy the most about Delaware County Community College is that I ve made a lot of friends here from all over the world, and we help each other out. The professors are very patient and kind, and all of my classes are challenging. English is my favorite subject. Xiang, from China I chose DCCC because it s one of the best community colleges in the U.S. I really like the environment. I can also transfer to many universities in the U.S. Thinh V, from Vietnam
