2016 - Term 2 Course Descriptions Title Z Number of Chapters CEUs Ministry Study Track Level Book of Acts: Holy Spirit At Work In Believers Z 1 Chp. CEUs Level 1 Believers wanting to understand the gift and workings of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the early believers and their impact on the world. The early-church believers turned the world upside down! What about us? You will study the emergence of the church and how the Holy Spirit empowered and directed the early church then and today. Attention is given to the geographical, numerical, cultural, and theological growth of the church from Jerusalem to Rome. The journeys of Paul are examined as background for a separate study of the epistles. Eschatology: A Study of Things to Come Z 1 Chp. CEUs Level 2 Believers wanting a clearer and deeper understanding of prophecies related to the end times we are living in and the return of Christ. What in the world is happening? You will gain an understanding of end-time events written from a Pentecostal perspective helping you guard against false Christs and false doctrines. The course studies the Rapture, plus various views of the Tribulation and the Millennium. You will be more confindent in providing answers to the many questions people have concerning the Seconding Coming of Christ. Introduction to Theology: A Pentecostal Perspective Z 1 Chp. CEUs Level 2 Believers wanting to grow in faith and learn the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith. Theology is the Study of God and this course will teach you the essential role of the Scriptures, which are God s revelation to us, helping you understand the foundational truths and doctrines of the Christian faith. You will gain insight into why the Bible is the only completely reliable source of truth about God and that the Scriptures are our source to examine what they teach about God, humankind, and the church. The last two chapters will examine what the Bible teaches about the future and God s ultimate plan for both humankind and the world. Beginning Ministerial Internship* Z 12 Chp. CEUs Level 1 MINISTRY STUDENTS ONLY * Ministry leaders seeking credentials and who have completed Level 1 courses of the Ministerial Study Program. Answering God s call This is the first of three internships required for the Ministerial Studies Diploma. Each internship will require the student to work with a local pastor to gain hands-on experience in various ministry activities. This course discusses the importance of a good attitude in ministry as well as many of the functions of ministry such as weddings and funerals. It also emphasizes servant leadership and the minister s devotional life. Intermediate Ministerial Internship* Z 12 Chp. CEUs Level 2 MINISTRY STUDENTS ONLY * Ministry leaders seeking credentials and who have completed all courses in Level 1 and 2 of the Ministerial Study Program. Get equpped! The second of three required internships for the Ministerial Studies diploma, this course helps the student develop the right attitude for ministry. It examines characteristics to be avoided and tests to be passed in the life of a minister. It further focuses on public aspects of ministry, such as teaching, preaching, and leading meetings. The personal life of the minister, including time management and personal health are also discussed.
