Your math class for 2018-2019 will be the next math level up from where you are currently at this year. -Principles of Algebra- 2018-2019 will be Pre-Algebra -6/7A Compact- 2018-2019 will be 7B/8 Compact -Pre-Algebra- 2018-2019 will be Linear algebra -Compact 7/8A- 2018-2019 will be tested for placement in Linear Algebra or High School Algebra at the end of the school year. -Linear algebra- 2018-2019 will be High School Algebra

-Students will have two elective classes each semester. Your elective class could be a semester long class or your elective class might last the entire school year. -Students will rank their elective choices numbering on the list (1-8). Ranking a class (1) is what you want as your highest priority. -Please make sure that you rank your top 8. -Course selection sheets are not complete until you rank 1-8, even if you sign up for one year round elective class or both of your elective classes are year round elective classes.

YEAR LONG ELECTIVE CHOICES SHOULD ALWAYS BE ASSIGNED A HIGHER PRIORITY NUMBER THAN ANY SEMESTER ELECTIVE!

Elective Choices If you plan on being in a year long elective class or both of your elective classes are year long, these classes must be your highest priority when doing your rankings. (rank them as 1 and 2 on your course selection sheet) Year long elective classes are as follows; Band Advanced Chorus Chorus Advanced Orchestra Spanish 1 PE (There is a separate slide in this presentation that provides an example on how to sign up for year long PE)

EXAMPLE 1 Please RANK the options below from 1-8. Use each number only once. A ranking of 1 indicates the highest interest. (The example below shows Orchestra as a year-long elective choice. Since it is a year long elective, it should be assigned the highest priority. All semester classes should be assigned a lower number in priority rankings) 6 Art (Semester) Art II (Semester) Band Advanced (Year) Chorus (Year) Chorus Advanced (Year) 5 Family and Consumer Science (Semester) 1 Orchestra (Year) 8 Physical Education (Semester) 4 Physical Education (Semester) Physical Education Advanced (Semester) Physical Education Advanced (Semester) Spanish 1 (Year) 7 STEM (Semester) Theater (Semester) 2 Theater II (Semester) 3 Theater Crew (Semester) For Band and Orchestra Instrument Violin Years: one year

Elective Choices- PE- If you want PE as a year long elective, you will need to rank them in consecutive order. SEE EXAMPLE BELOW Example 2 Please RANK the options below from 1-8. Use each number only once. A ranking of 1 indicates the highest interest. NOTE: If you would like to take Physical Education OR Physical Education Advanced, please select that course twice with consecutive numbers. Notice in this example that the year long elective (Band) is ranked ahead of PE. Remember all year long electives must be ranked at a higher priority number than semester elective choices. 7 Art (Semester) Art II (Semester) 1 Band Advanced (Year) Chorus (Year) Chorus Advanced (Year) 8 Family and Consumer Science (Semester) Orchestra (Year) Physical Education (Semester) Physical Education (Semester) 2 Physical Education Advanced (Semester) 3 Physical Education Advanced (Semester) Spanish 1 (Year) 4 STEM (Semester) 5 Theater (Semester) Theater II (Semester) 6 Theater Crew (Semester) For Band and Orchestra Instrument: Trombone Years: one year
