I. BACKGROUND In a developing country like India, the proportion of educated and skilled people has steadily been increasing whereas increase in availability of employment opportunities has been comparatively lagging behind. Though, there has been significant development of industrial enterprises during the past few decades, maintaining the competitive strength and growth of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME) Industry sector, in particular, is becoming increasingly challenging. The promotion of entrepreneurs as well as development of entrepreneurial skills have been the key areas both for sustaining the competitive strength of our industrial base as also towards reducing the number of job seekers. HARDICON was set up in 1985, jointly by Public Sector Banks and Financial Institutions with the twin objectives of facilitating overall industrial development of the country by catering to the technical consultancy needs of the industry and promoting entrepreneurship. The study was assigned by Indian Renewal Energy Development Agency (IREDA) on behalf of USAID. - Impact assessment study of schemes of National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC), in the states of Delhi, Gujarat, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh Goa, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Kerela, Tripura, Rajasthan, Karnataka, West Bengal, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Uttaranchal.- Sample size: 7312 beneficiaries. - Impact assessment study of schemes of National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC), in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka Tamil Nadu Bihar, Rajasthan & Gujarat. Sample size : 3460 beneficiaries. - Impact assessment study of training schemes of National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), in the state of West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. Sample size : 823 beneficiaries. - Beneficiary Information Survey of Manual Scavengers of Gujarat Safai Kamdar Vikar Nigam (GSKVN) in the state of Gujarat for Govt. of Gujarat. Sample size : 12508 beneficiaries - Concurrent evaluation of Development of Women & Child in Rural Area (DWCRA) scheme in Rajasthan. The study was assigned by Haryana Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Section Nigam Ltd. - Physical Verification of PMEGP units in Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Odisha and J&K State on behalf of KVIC. - E-tracking of PMEGP units in the State of Haryana on behalf of KVIC. 7

(RECL) under its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative. Skill Development Training Programmes for 200 beneficiaries belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Women/EWS in Haryana State on behalf of IFCI Ltd. under its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative. Impact Assessment Study of GAIL s CSR Programmes viz. Job linked Vocational Skill Training to underprivileged rural / semi rural families in Tandur (A.P.), Dediapada (Gujarat), Guna (M.P.) & North East, Integrated Watershed Management Project, Jhabua (M.P.) and Enrolment for Specialized Coaching for IIT/Engineering Entrance Exam for Children of underprivileged section of Kanpur (U.P.) Sample Size 4000 beneficiaries. Conducted Base Line Survey under CSR initiative of PSUs viz. PFC Ltd., PGCIL, MMTC Ltd., NHPC Ltd. etc. for identifying need based projects. Impact Assessment Study on Rehabilitation of physically challenged persons through supplying artificial limbs by NGO and Vaccination for prevention of Cervical Cancer in EWS Girls in Rajasthan under CSR initiative of The State Trading Corporation Ltd.
