Teacher of Maths (Full time, fixed term maternity cover) We are looking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic teacher of Maths who has the ability to engage and enthuse students and staff with a passion for the subject across Ks3-Ks5. The post is equally suited to both highly motivated, newly qualified teachers, as well as teachers who are developing a track record of outstanding student performance. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding teaching practitioner with sound subject knowledge and a passion for teaching mathematics. This is an exciting time in our school s development we have made rapid and significant improvement to our outcomes and we are delighted to have this validated by an Outstanding judgement in our very recent Ofsted inspection. Our success is built upon the relationships we have with our students and we encourage them to be curious and inquisitive whilst developing their independent learning skills. A significant factor in our improvement has been our continuous focus on improving the quality of teaching to influence and improve outcomes. We are continually looking to develop our teaching and learning strategies through an excellent CPD programme. All members of teaching staff receive a 1 hour timetable allocation working in a teaching and learning group dedicated to the development of their classroom strategies in order to improve student progress and engagement. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and committed teacher to contribute to all aspects of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of excellence within the classroom, be able to demonstrate their ability to motivate and inspire students and will contribute to raising standards of achievement in the school. The Maths department has a suite of classrooms and an open area where students feel supported, challenged and flourish. Teacher of Maths person specification Experience: Knowledge and understanding of the Maths curriculum at KS3, KS4 and KS5 Courses currently taught range from GCSE Maths, Further Maths and Statistics through to A Level courses. Support will be given to deliver these. Teacher of Maths Job description Responsible to: Subject Raising Achievement Leader in respect of all timetable and subject area commitments. Year Team Leader regarding duties relating to guidance and welfare. Job purpose: To meet high professional standards in teaching and learning in the subject area in order to ensure that students knowledge, understanding and achievement are of the highest levels within the subject. The duties outlined in this job description are in addition to those covered by the latest School Teachers Pay and Conditions document.
