To download, click the first link (R Download Site) and follow the instructions based on your computer. Install this file. Then, click the second link (R-Studio Download Site) and follow the instructions for your computer. Install this file. (Sometimes you will have to search for R Studio in your start menu to find where it installed.) The icon will look like this:
Live Sessions: Follow the link to log into Blackboard Collaborate to participate in the live sessions (I will be logged in during the times indicated.) This will allow you to chat with me during the administration of a lecture or to ask questions during Tutorial Sessions. If you cannot make the Live Lecture, a recording will appear in the course calendar immediately following the lecture. Please keep up with the recorded lectures! This is not a self-paced course.
Proctored Exams Tab: This tab is used to schedule your exams in the casa testing center. I will inform you when the scheduler for the exams will open up. You should schedule as soon as possible to get your preferred time slot. It is your responsibility to schedule your own exam. I have no influence over the operations and scheduling of the testing center.
Online Assignments Tab: This tab contains your Course Policies Quiz (which must be completed with a score of 100% before you have access to the other quizzes. Do this as soon as possible), your weekly quizzes, and your practice tests. Weekly quizzes will be timed and scored out of 100%. You will have 20 attempts to get your best score. (It is preferred to print a copy from here or the main course page to complete first before taking the timed quiz.) Practice Tests are not required, but highly suggested to complete. You have 20 attempts. 10% of your best score will be extra credit on that exam.
Assignments Tab: Your written homework will appear here. You can print the blank homework forms from this page or the main course page. Write or type in your answers showing all needed work or software commands (screenshots are acceptable). Save your work as a single PDF file before uploading and submitting. When you have submitted, the Not Submitted item will become Submitted and you will see a file name of your work.
EMCF Tab: Your Poppers will be answered here. Poppers will begin in the third week of the course and be found in the completed notes and the recorded sessions. These are due by 8:00 am the following Tuesday (you will have 1 week to complete them). Select the correct Popper number, and click in your answers. There is No Submit Button. Your answers are automatically submitted when the deadline arrives.
Gradebook Tab: This will contain your grades as you complete your work, as well as give you a chance to review your answers (The magnifying glass will display your answers, not the correct answers.) Tests, Quizzes, and Practice Tests are graded out of 100. Homeworks are graded out of 15. Poppers are graded out of the number of questions that week.
Keep in mind: There are a lot of students trying to log into the system to put in their work, and our servers get overloaded. Do not wait until the last minute to submit your work. If you have an internet connectivity problem or an issue logging in because you waited until the last minute, I cannot help you. As a general rule, do not submit work after 10:00 pm to avoid this from happening. It is a good idea to log out and back in after submitting work to make sure it is still there. (If it isn t, you were probably logged out and didn t realize it.)
