Academic Accreditation Academic Accreditation composes an integral framework which Qatar University has persistently used to ensure the quality of its academic output through revising the components of its programs and adjusting them accordingly in order to meet the highest international standards for said programs. This type of accreditation was rightfully earned by a multitude of Qatar University s programs from the most prestigious of boards and organizations. This includes programs in Engineering, Business & Economics, Education, Pharmacy, Arts and Sciences. Law One of the College of Law latest achievements was earning accreditation from The High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES). Education College of Education followed suit by earning accreditation for all its programs from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) for the period of 2016-2021. This was preceded by the College achieving the standards set by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and through this accomplishment, Qatar University s College of Education becomes the first national university outside of the United States to earn such accreditation. Spring 2011 saw the College earning international recognition for its Teacher Preparation programs from the International Recognition of Teacher Education Programs Agency (IRTE), making it only the second college in the Middle East to earn this type of recognition. Engineering College of Engineering renewed its academic accreditation for a variety of its programs in July 2011 through the Accreditation Board of Engineering & Technology (ABET). Those programs were the following seven bachelor degrees: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science. The College is considered the earliest earner of academic accreditation, having earned it as early as October 2004. Pharmacy College of Pharmacy earned its accreditation the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs, thereby becoming the first college to be accredited by said council outside of Canada. 4 Undergraduate Prospectus 2017-2018

Business & Economics College of Business & Economics earned its accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), making it the third college in the University to be accredited, after Engineering and Pharmacy. Arts & Sciences College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) has a multitude of accreditations, among them is that earned by its Bachelor and Masters of Environmental Studies from the Committee of Heads of Environmental Sciences (CHES), a leading organization in the field. The college has also earned an official letter of accreditation for its Mass Communication and Journalism programs from the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications, or ACEJMC. The process of earning such accreditation started as early as 2006, with the Department restructuring itself and adjusting its study plans to meet the accreditation standard for its current programs which are Journalism, Radio, Television, Strategic Communication and Public Relations. The Statistics program in the Department of Mathematics, Physics & Statistics earned a 5 years accreditation from the British Royal Statistical Society. The Chemistry program has earned its accreditation from the Canadian Society of Chemistry. Health Sciences The Biomedical program in the college is considered the first outside the US to earn a 5 years accreditation from National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), making it on an equal footing with American universities in its strength. Foundation Program The department in the Foundation Program Unit has earned its accreditation from the Commission on Language Accreditation (CEA) from the United States. Such accreditations are sure to establish Qatar University s ability to meet international standards and guarantee high quality outcomes, thereby reflecting Qatar s advancement in the field of learning and its vision of high quality education.
