BROAD PURPOSE The Inclusive Education Assistant JC will promote the CBC and EREA mission, vision, values and touch stones in all aspects of the role. They will work within available budgetary and staffing levels to ensure optimal student outcomes and promote contemporary 21 st Century teaching and learning. They will establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, the wider community, students and their families to effectively individualise student learning. They will have well developed skills in ICT and the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the College community and its external partners. The Inclusive Education Assistant JC is responsible for the establishment of and/or day-to-day effective and efficient operation of; MiniLit and/or MacqLit Reading Intervention program; including implementation, assessment and maintaining Development and maintenance of Junior Campus Inclusive Education and Intervention Database Early Intervention screening, data collection, analysis, reporting and monitoring of students at risk Maintenance of assistive technology DUTY STATEMENT Key Responsibilities and Duties Apply knowledge and skills to develop, manage and implement data informed programs, targeting and monitoring early literacy development and intervention Establish and maintain Junior Campus Inclusive Education and Intervention database Support ESO staff in the administering and monitoring of targeted intervention programs Provide and delivery training programs and plans in Multilit to support ESO staff Develop, manage, maintain and regularly report on Junior Campus Inclusive Education Database Implement developmental screening in the early years From an evidence base, plan, develop and design targeted intervention for students at risk Produce diagnostic reports/graphs that inform continuous improvement in literacy development at multiple levels eg. Student centred, classroom based and whole school development Establish and maintain positive working relationships with classroom teachers, focussed on continuous improvement in student learning outcomes Provide classroom support for Inclusive Needs students that have non-resourced Inclusive needs, that is for students with a specific learning disability as directed by the Inclusive Education Coordinator Maintain ongoing communication with the Inclusive Education Coordinator regarding individual student progress according to the aims, expectations and curriculum modifications outlined in the Action Plan of targeted students Support the Inclusive Education Coordinator in the development of curriculum support material for students with specific learning disabilities in consultation with the family Attend review meetings as required with all support personnel including the student and his family Assist with the use of ITC support for CBC students, familiarise students with their operations and support with maintenance such as recharging. PERSON SPECIFICATIONS Skills & Knowledge Apply effective leadership skills to promote continuous improvement in literacy intervention and development Work with other education support officers to achieve improved literacy outcomes for students at risk Work autonomously to implement and manage Junior Campus intervention programs, specifically MiniLit and/or MacqLit programs and early years screening (desirable) Demonstrate effective skills and knowledge to lead, manage, monitor and implement data informed intervention as evidenced through both formal and informal professional development Demonstrate and apply a high level of knowledge and skills in literacy development Demonstrate high level autonomy and initiative Support and active commitment of the ethos of the College, as a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition. Qualifications and Training SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Diploma of Children s Services (or equivalent) highly regarded Basic Emergency Life Support (BELS), OR Senior First Aid Certificate (if nominated First Aid/Health Care Officer) Approved Mandatory Notification training Police Clearance to work in Catholic Education SA Perform any other duties as required from time to time by the principal Workers WORK HEALTH & SAFETY This role is deemed to be a Worker under the South Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2012.
