An evaluation funded by the Institute of Education Sciences is being conducted to help us learn how well the Year Up PTC program is working to help participants. Only applicants who, after learning about the study, are willing to participate will be eligible for enrollment in classes starting in August. Check your email for your interview confirmation and time. All interviews are held at the Bellevue College North Campus. Bring your completed application packet and as many application materials as possible. Avoid rescheduling. Show us that this is a priority and that you can commit. Do NOT cancel your interview if you do not have all of your application materials ready. Dress as professionally as possible. Arrive at least 15 minutes early. Read over the attached contract and make sure you have some knowledge of the program. Visit our website at www.yearup.org and watch a video or two. Be ready to explain your interest and prior experience in your chosen track (Database Analyst or Business Technology Specialist). Be calm and confident. The interview is an opportunity for us to get to know you! If you are running late or cannot attend the interview due to an emergency, contact your interviewer as soon as possible. What is FAFSA? You must submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you want to apply for federal and state financial aid to help pay for college tuition and books. Many colleges and universities, including Bellevue College, require the FAFSA. You must submit the FAFSA every year that you want aid. What is the Student Aid Report (SAR)? After your FAFSA application is processed, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR), which determines what financial aid you qualify for. If available, please bring a copy of your SAR to your interview. Do not cancel your interview if your FAFSA or SAR is not complete. What else should I know? Year Up does not require students to take out loans to pay for their Bellevue College tuition. Please contact the Admissions Manager if you qualify for loans only. Ordering an IRS Tax Transcript for Bellevue College Financial Aid Bellevue College can only accept IRS tax transcripts as verification of income. Personal copies of tax returns or 1040 s are no longer sufficient. Three ways to get an IRS tax transcript for free: Option 1: Go to www.irs.gov and click on Order a Transcript. 1. Request the Get Online Preferred option and enter the information fields. o You can also choose to Get by Mail. 2. Request a Return Transcript. 3. Request a transcript for the year 2015 & 2016. Option 2: Call the IRS tax transcript order line at 1-800-908-9946. Option 3: Visit one of your local IRS offices. You must schedule an appointment.
