Graduation Programs Distinguished Recommended *For extenuating circumstances please meet with your counselor regarding the minimum high school graduation plan
Distinguished Achievement Program Complete Recommended plan program foundation One additional credit in Foreign Language Achieve any combination of four of the following: *Score 3 or above on the College Board Advanced Placement Examination *A grade of 80 or higher on courses that count for college credit *Original research project
Recommended High School Program The RHSP is the default program for the state of Texas and students of Judson ISD. State law requires all student to automatically be enrolled in the RHSP. Minimum High School Plan: requires a parent consent; meeting with counselor and administrator; written agreement; acknowledgement of benefits of RHSP; and other requirements. See counselor if more information is required.
In addition to Foundational level classes, the following levels of courses are offered: DUAL CREDIT REGULAR PRE-AP / AP IB TAG
Foundational/General Credit Courses These courses are taught at grade level and follow the Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS) elements
Dual Credit Courses JISD has academic and technical dual credit partnerships agreements with several postsecondary institutions Students earn high school and college credit at the same time A qualifying score on the THEA exam must be met before enrolling in a dual credit course
Pre-AP/IB and AP/IB Courses AP/IB courses give students a head start on college Taking AP/IB courses can help students to gain college admission; test scores can earn college credit and placement into advanced courses. Grades are weighted and can help improve class rank
What is AP? Current graduation requirements and HB 5 requirements to be implemented beginning in 2014-2015
Attendance Students must attend class 90% of the time in order to receive credit for the course. Absences cannot exceed 9 (per class) in a semester. Medical appointments are excused (medical documentation required). If a student earns a 70 or better in a class, but is denied credit due to attendance he or she must be reviewed by the attendance committee and an individual plan must be created. Once the plan is completed, the credit will be re-instated
