HESA Recognition Statement The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and Certificate are fully recognized for university admission in South Africa as reflected in the government gazette no.: 31674, vol. 522 of 5 December 2008. According to this gazette, a candidate with IB school exit qualification will, on application be issued with an exemption certificate if he/she meets one of the following criteria: a) International Baccalaureate Diploma with 24 points, or b) Two higher level and three standard level pass towards International Baccalaureate Certificate with pass mark of 4 to 7. I believe that as humans we have the ethical responsibility to leave our society better than how we found it. This is the only way for us to keep moving forward.
