Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University, Bhubaneswar crowned the International Champions and ICAI, Bengaluru crowned the National champions of the 'Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2014 10 th edition of India s largest and most awaited inter-collegiate business quiz - the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz concludes with its National and International Finals in Mumbai Over 6000 students, in teams of 2 each, from 34 cities participated in the Indian edition of the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2014 Based on the Power of 10 Tata Crucible Campus Quiz set fresh challenges with more cities, higher prizes and first time included charitable component Tata Crucible Campus Quiz is a knowledge initiative by the Tata group that aims to provide a unique platform for the sharpest young minds to showcase their quizzing mettle Mumbai, April 13, 2014: The 10 th edition of the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz concluded its journey across 34 cities with an exhilarating final in Mumbai with a neck to neck competition for the Championship title. The National round was followed by the International finals at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. Both finals kept the audience spellbound with a dazzling show of intellect and pulsating quizzing. The Guest of honour at the event was Dr. Mukund Rajan, Member Group Executive Council and Brand Custodian, Tata Sons who awarded the Championship title to the young winners. The National Finals witnessed top two teams from each of the four zones battling it out for the title. The eight national finalists were as follows: 1. North Zone : Mr. Shubham Tripathi and Mr. Arnab Ghosh - IIT, Kanpur Mr. Sahil Gupta and Mr. Tanay Shankar BITS Pilani, Rohtak 2. South Zone : Mr. Rithwik Krishnakumar and Mr. Krishna, TAPMI, Manipal Mr. Vijay Kalarickal and Mr. Mohit Jain ICAI, Bangalore 3. West Zone : Mr. Pranjal Rajendra Modak and Mr. Pawan Pawar VNIT, Nagpur Mr. Arjun Krishna Kumar and Mr. Ashish Vaswani Symbiosis, Pune The National Finals was a gruelling and closely contested competition, at the end of which ICAI from Bangalore, emerged victorious, took home the coveted Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2014 trophy along with a grand prize of Rs.7,00,000/-* (the increase of Rs. 2 lakhs from National Winning team s prize will be contributed to a charity of the team s choice) and qualified for the International Finals. KIIT University from Bhubaneshwar were the second team to qualify for the International Finals of the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2014. The National champions and runners-up of the Indian edition joined the top two teams from the U.K and Singapore editions in the International Finals of the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2014. Participating teams from Singapore included Mr. Rohan Pothan Naidu & Mr. Sarvagyam Abhimanyu from National University of Singapore (NUS) and Mr. Shivam Bhardwaj and Mr. Prasad Karan also from NUS. Representing UK were Mr. Anup Karath Nair & Mr. Igor Pyrko from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow and Mr. George Richard Leeson and Mr Oliver Gillespie from University of Bath respectively. At the end of a nail biting challenge, Mr. Omkar Amrutanshu and Mr. Sagar Saurabh from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University, Bhubaneswar triumphed over their fellow competitors in an electrifying crossfire of questions winning the Tata Crucible trophy, laptops and an international holiday package each. Chief Guest Dr. Mukund Rajan, Member Group Executive Council and Brand Custodian, Tata Sons felicitated the winners of the National and International finals with the Tata Crucible trophy and gave away prizes to the winning teams. In its endeavour to promote and heighten the quizzing experience in India, the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz incorporated three notable changes in its 2014 edition the expansion to 34 cities from 30 in 2013, the10-quotient quizzing format and the inclusion of Zonal Finals.
