Dear Parents, Vikash has distinguished itself as an institution which is actively committed in inculcating social and religious values in every student along with their academic development. With the blessings of Maa Samleswari, the month of August is filled up with an assortment of events and activities and this newsletter is a snapshot of happenings ranging from day packed with the feeling of patriotism, religious festivity and day of graduation. The final year BSC & BCOM appeared their TERM-I Examination from 17 th Aug -30 th Aug. First Semester Classes are commenced for all the streams. Third semester regular classes commenced after the completion of their 2 nd Semster examination. After the internal exams of BALLB (IInd & IVth Sem), they are preparing for their University Examinations going to be held in the second week of September, 2017. On 21 st Aug, BA students presented their first seminar on Poverty in India. The students beautifully presented the present scenario on poverty. This seminar gave the students an opportunity to learn more about how poverty affects people and what causes it, along with how they can help. The students also received tips on public speaking and planning an event, among other skills, from the faculties.
The latest news as it happens, from business to entertainment, current events from India to the world, was presented by First Year BCOM Students on weekly basis. On the occasion of the 11th Foundation day of Late Dasari Veer Raju and Gunnam Ramchandra Rao Memorial Trust, popularly celebrated as the Graduation Day, all the graduates of 2017 were gloriously felicitated with certificates by the gracious hands of Prof.(Dr.) Atanu Ku. Pati, Vice-chancellor, G.M University Sambalpur on 23rd Aug. The presence of Shri Uma Charan Pati, Deputy Registrar, G.M.University with the Management members added colour to the occasion. It was a lifetime experience for the invited students and their Parents.
A seminar was organized on 12 th Aug for the fresh batch students of B.Com on Corporate Crush- Dreams unlimited presented by the resource person, Shri Nirmal Sinha, Vice-President, HR, Hindalco. To offer the wonderful opportunity to students to appear the Medical Entrance Examination along with one year BSC degree course, the college resumed its integrated Medical coaching for first year students from 22 nd Aug, 2017. Utmost care has been taken to provide equal importance to BSC syllabus along with the entrance syllabus. The whole campus was filled with patriotic aroma on 15 th of Aug, the auspicious day of 71 st Independence Day. The chief Guest Shri Prassnna Acharya, MP, Rajya Sabha hoisted the national flag and motivated the young minds to think over the progress of India and feel proud that they are the inheritors of a great heritage. The day also witnessed the parade exhibition along with the presentation of patriotic songs.
Krishna Janmastami was celebrated in the Technical campus with sheer enthusiasm and traditional fervor on 14 th of Aug. To mark the quintessence of the religious festival, Ganesh Chaturthi was observed in the campus on 25 th Aug. A huge idol of Ganesha was worshipped and the day ends with Prasad sevan. On the occasion of Independence Day, a Rangoli Competition was organized by Future Champs, a social outfit working towards society on 13 th Aug. The students beautifully made rangolis depicting India s different cultural facets. Miss Siprasupriya and group got 3 rd prize in the competition.
Girls in india have practically no opportunity to play cricket, for that to provide ample scope to girls to prove their talent in cricket, cricket coaching was started on 20 th Aug where at about 25 girls registered their names from the college. A seminar on Empowering Women s Cricket was also organized where the Managing Director, Shri G. Bhaskar Rao motivated the girls to through powerpoint presentation of heroic show of Indian women cricket in World Cup.
