SCHOOL NEWS Fall is here! Newsletter October 20, 2017 To change the world we must be good to those who cannot repay us. Pope Francis The weather is unpredictable now so please ensure that your child attends school every day with a jacket ready to use when needed. It is very rare that we do not go outside for recess. Arrival and Departure Just a reminder to all: Students should not be dropped off before 8:15am in the morning. Drop-off is between 8:15 and 8:30am. If special circumstances arise please let us know. Supervision begins at 8:15am. School ends at 2:45pm. Please collect your children by 3pm. If you know you will be late a quick call to the office is appreciated. October is Thanksgiving Month We are all being challenged to show our 100% appreciation for our fabulous new school (and parking lot) through a donation giving to complete our campaign. Any amount counts. Teachers are challenging every student in their classes to contribute too. The first class to have 100% participation wins a pizza party. We invite parents to join in and show their appreciation. How amazing would it be for our whole St. Joseph community to have 100% participation, parents, staff and students. Since the poster went out last week we have already had several donations at the front office from members of the community not all directly connected to the school. We are so thankful! FreshGrade St. Joseph school is now live! It has taken a little longer than we were hoping.to organize the technology, but we are now live! Our school is now fully enrolled in FreshGrade which is a digital platform allowing teachers to share with parents their child s activities from the classroom and their work through writing, video and pictures. It can also be used to report on student progress. Teachers are now making themselves familiar with this new platform and once they are comfortable with it you will receive an email inviting you to join in. Once you have logged on you will be able to view posts on your child s page and be able to see some of the things they are doing while at school. Watch for an invitation soon to an information evening for parents about this program.
