This brochure tells you about our courses and the centres where they are available. Please have a look at our learning opportunities and choose the learning pathway that is right for you. When you have made your choices, go to the centre pages of this brochure to find out about our enrolment process. The brochure will tell you when you can book an appointment to come and meet with a member of our staff. Extra appointments will be available after these dates. There is a list of what to bring to your meeting and to help you enrol. Please bring these with you. Please fill out the form with your information and course choices and bring this with you too. It is important to us that you feel safe. Our staff are trained in Safeguarding and Prevent to help make our centres safe places to learn. We provide equal access to our services for everyone. 2 We look forward to seeing you soon to help you enrol.

Progress in Learning: Community Learning We offer a wide range of courses to promote creativity, social inclusion, health and wellbeing. All courses track personal progress and achievements using an individual leaning plan. You will be set individual goals linked to your long term goals. Courses include those designed for learners with profound and complex needs, Autism or mental health difficulty. Some of these courses may support progression into accredited or mainstream courses. You will need to pay money for these courses. Progress in Learning: Independent Living Learners wishing to develop English, Maths and ICT for everyday life and work may want to consider one of these courses. Learners will have an opportunity to work towards a Gateway qualification along with developing their own personal targets which will support personal growth and future achievements. These courses will also support you to develop your independence, confidence and social inclusion as well as developing your basic skills for life and work. These courses may be free if you meet the criteria. 3

Progress in Learning: Employment Learners wishing to work towards voluntary or paid employment may join a range of work based courses such as Employability, Workskills or Volunteering. Learners will take part in practical and classroom based learning which supports skills such as health and safety, working in a team, interview skills, writing a CV and personal presentation skills. Practical activities may include working in the college or library café, growing and selling plants or working in one of the college shops. A number of short courses including First Aid for Work, Reading and Writing for Work and CV Writing are also available across many centres. You will follow personal goals and where appropriate work towards a qualification. Guidance on progression into employment or voluntary work will be provided. 4

Young people under 25 with an Educational Health Care Plan will need to attend an interview and induction programme in preparation for joining ACL. Learners will follow a range of programmes based around their learning needs and long term goals. Learners will be able to follow programmes which include English, maths, employment and enrichment courses. They will also be linked to a mentor tutor to support them during their at college.
