TS EAMCET - 2018 (Engineering) A Common Entrance Test designated as Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET 2018) will be conducted by JNT University Hyderabad for the academic year 2018-2019 for admission into the First Year of Professional Courses i.e. B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Tech.(Ag. Engg.) / B.Tech.(Diary Technology) / B.Tech. (BioTechnology) / B.Tech.(FT) / B.Sc. (CA & BM) (MPC)/B.Pharm. (MPC) / Pharm-D (MPC) I. PARTICULARS OF TSEAMCET 2018 (Engg. Stream) The Test will be held of the following dates with daily two sessions 04-05-2018 (FN) from 10-00 A.M. to 1-00 P.M. 04-05-2018 (AN) from 3-00 P.M. to 6-00 P.M. 05-05-2018 (FN) from 10-00 A.M. to 1-00 P.M. 05-05-2018 (AN) from 3-00 P.M. to 6-00 P.M. 07-05-2018 (FN) from 10-00 A.M. to 1-00 P.M. 07-05-2018 (AN) from 3-00 P.M. to 6-00 P.M. ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR F TS EAMCET 2018 Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for TS EAMCET-2018: a. Candidates should be of Indian Nationality or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders. b. Candidates should belong to the state of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy Local / Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Telangana / Andhra Pradesh. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 as subsequently amended (See Annexure Enclosed at the end). c. For Engineering, B.Pharmacy (M.P.C), B.Tech. (Dairy), B.Tech. (Ag. Engineering), B.Tech. [Food Technology] courses: (i) (ii) Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optionals or related vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh, along with bridge course or courses conducted by it for candidates enrolled from academic year 2000 onwards, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh. Candidates should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh. a) In the case of Engineering, Pharmacy courses, candidates should have completed 16 years of age by the date of commencement of admissions or on such other date as may be notified by the common entrance test committee. There is no upper age limit. b) In the case of B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.Tech. (Ag. Engineering), B.Tech. (FT) and B.Sc. (CA & BM), candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31 st December of the year of admission and an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates and 25 years in respect of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates as on 31 st December of the year of Admissions. d. (i) For Pharm-D course candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optionals conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh, as equivalent thereto or should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma Examination in Pharmacy course conducted by the Telangana / Andhra Pradesh State Board of Technical Education and training. (ii) The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31 st December of the year of admission to the above course. 2

III. GENERAL INFMATION / INSTRUCTIONS: a. The Convener, TS EAMCE 2018 reserves the right to reject the application of the candidate at any stage, if: (i) The Online Application Form is incomplete. (ii) The candidate fails to satisfy the eligibility conditions. (iii) Any false or incorrect information is furnished. (iv) The Online Application Form is submitted after the due date. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard. b. The Convener is not responsible for non-receipt of application by the notified date and time for any reason. IV. MEDIUM OF ENTRANCE TEST: The question paper contains questions in bilingual either in English and Telugu () in English and Urdu languages. Candidates, who have studied the qualifying examination in Telugu medium may opt for English and Telugu paper and a candidate studied Urdu medium may opt for English and Urdu paper. Candidates should note that in case of any discrepancy in the questions in bilingual papers, which is because of ambiguity in translation, the English version of the question shall be treated as final. V. REGISTRATION FEE: Payment of Registration Fee for submission of Online Application Form is the first step and the Registration Fee is Rs.800/- (Rs.400/- for SC/ST candidates only) which has to be paid through the following modes: (a)ts (AP) Online Centers (b) CREDIT CARD / DEBIT CARD / NET BANKING VI. During the ONLINE submission of TS EAMCET-2018 Application form, the candidate is hereby informed to select the required Test Zone of his choice and once chosen, request for change of Test Zone will not be entertained later. 2. The Convener reserves the right to add or delete some Test Centres from the list of Test Zones notified. 3. The Convener reserves the right to allot the candidates to any Test Zone other than that opted by the candidates. 4. Candidate has to submit not more than one application either for E or AM or E&AM category test. If any candidate submits more than one application for one category, the Convener reserves the right to reject all the applications or accept any one of them only. 3

VII. SUBMISSION OF ON-LINE APPLICATION F TS EAMCET 2018 Application should be submitted through Online mode only. The following information must be kept ready for filling the details during Online submission: a. Hall ticket Number of Qualifying (10+2) Examination b. Email Id. c. Mobile Number b. Hall ticket Number of S.S.C. or equivalent c. Date of Birth d. Caste in case of SC/ST/BC candidates (Caste Certificate Application number for SC/ST only) e. PH, NCC, Sports etc. f. Income Upto One Lakh or Up to Two Lakhs or More than Two Lakhs (Rupees) g. Study or Residence or relevant certificate for proof of local status (last 12 years) VII. Note: 1. The above certificates are to be submitted during the counseling for admission. 2. If the candidate do not have E-mail Id., he/she has to create a E-Mail Id. Online submission: For Online submission, visit the website eamcet.tsche.ac.in. A candidate has to pay Rs. 800/- (Rs.400/- for SC/ST candidates only) Registration Fee and late fee (if applicable) by opting any of the following two modes of payment: (a) TS (AP) (b) Debit / Credit Card and after payment candidate will receive SMS to the register Mobile and Email about the receipt of Amount. Use the Payment Reference Number for filling the data. After filling the Online Application Form with the required details, the candidate is required to verify all the details carefully and press Submit button. Filled In Online Application Form will be generated which contains Registration Number along with filled in details. The candidate is required to take printout of Filled In Online Application Form and it is to be submitted to the Invigilator during the examination after affixing a recent color photograph duly attested by the Gazetted Officer or Principal of the College where studied qualifying examination. The candidate should use the Registration Number for future correspondence. Mere appearance and qualifying at TS EAMCET-2018 does not confer any right for admission into professional courses. Candidate has to fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down in the relevant G.O at the time of admission. IX. QUALIFYING MARKS F TS EAMCET 2018 The qualifying percentage of marks for the TS EAMCET-2018 is 25% of the maximum marks considered for ranking. However, for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe, no minimum qualifying mark is prescribed. But their admission will be limited to the extent of seats reserved for such categories (vide G.O.Ms. No. 179, LEN&TE, dated 16.06.1986). X NMALIZATION OF QUESTION PAPER: TSEAMCET-2018 is being conducted in multiple sessions based on the same syllabus, same pattern for candidates having same eligibility criteria. A candidate will be eligible to appear only in one session. Since the question paper is different for each session, there is a possibility that the candidates may compare themselves about the variation in the difficulty levels of question paper of the same subject. However, it may be noted that utmost care will be taken so that all the subjects are of the same standard. Further, it is decided to adopt a normalization process to eliminate any such variations in the difficulty levels of various sessions. The main aim of the Normalization is to ensure that no student gets advantage/disadvantage due to multiple sessions. The normalization process brings all the candidates across all sessions on a comparative scale. Due to this process, the marks of the easy session may be reduced marginally and marks of hard session may increase marginally on the global scale. This depends exactly on the average performance in each session. Since care is taken to prepare papers of equal difficulty, these changes are expected to be very marginal. Normalized marks justify the candidates while respecting their actual performance. Hence, the following normalization procedure is adopted which is being followed by other competitive Examinations in India to avoid advantage/disadvantage to candidates in a particular session compared to the other sessions. Normalized marks of the candidate Where, SASD: Sum of Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of the subject of a session in which the candidate appeared. GASD: Sum of Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of all the candidates across all sessions of the subject put together. STA: Average mark of the top 0.1% of the candidates in the subject of a session in which the candidate appeared. 4

GTA: Average mark of the top 0.1% of all the candidates across all the sessions of the subject put together. Note: For the candidates for whom there is no qualifying cut-off in TSEAMCET-2018, if the marks in TSEAMCET-2018 after normalization goes below zero (negative), the mark is treated as zero. If the tie persists, then TSEAMCET-2018 normalization marks (though negative) are considered for resolving the tie. XI. XII TS EAMCET-2018 RESULTS: a. Candidates shall be ranked in the order of merit as explained in the next Section b. Rank obtained in TS EAMCET-2018 is valid for admission to the courses mentioned in the application form for the academic year 2018-2019 only. c. Rank card shall be downloaded from the website eamcet.tsche.ac.in d. Rank obtained with the benefit of relaxation of the minimum qualifying marks at TS EAMCET-2018 by any candidate claiming as SC/ST Category will be cancelled in case the claim is found to be invalid at the time of admission to any course of study in any participating University / Institution. CRITERIA F RANKING (TS EAMCET 2018 Engg CATEGY ) As per G.O.Ms.No 73 of Higher Education(EC.2) Department, dated 28-07-2011, the candidates who have secured qualifying marks in TSEAMCET-2018 and candidates belonging to the category of Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe, for whom qualifying marks have not been prescribed, shall be assigned ranking in the order of merit on the basis of combined score obtained by giving 75% weightage to the NMALISED marks secured in TSEAMCET-2018 and 25% weightage to the marks secured in the relevant group subjects namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry of the qualifying examination. XVII For the preparation of merit list, in case of more than one student securing the same combined score obtained as mentioned above, the tie shall be resolved to decide the relative ranking by successively considering the following i) The total Normalized marks secured in TSEAMCET-2018 ii) The normalized Marks secured in Mathematics in TSEAMCET-2018 iii) The normalized marks secured in Physics in TSEAMCET-2018 iv) The Percentage of Aggregate marks secured in the qualifying examination v) If the tie still persists the date of birth of the concerned candidates, the older being given preference over the younger. The weightage of marks in the case of candidates belonging to the category of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders, will be decided by a committee constituted by the competent authority. Form - DM (Declaration of Marks) shall be downloaded by the candidates other than Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana / A.P. at the time of issue of TSEAMCET-2018 Hall Ticket. The candidates are required to fill in the form and submit along with attested photo copies of the marks memos of the qualifying examination that includes Bridge Course Marks Memo (if any) on or before 1 st May 2018 failing which the rank will not be awarded. The candidates should preserve the Filled In Online Application Form, the Hall Ticket and the Rank Card to produce them when called for verification. Any malpractice in TS EAMCET-2018 will be dealt with as per rules in force vide G.O.Ms.No: 114, Edn / (IE) Dt: 13 th May 1997 for the CET. In any litigation concerning TS EAMCET-2018 Test, Convener is the person to sue and be sued. The Convener (Examination), TS EAMCET 2018 is not responsible for allotment of seats at the time of admissions. The Commissioner of Technical Education, Telangana is the Convener for the Admissions. Any litigation concerning TS EAMCET-2018 received within a month from date of declaration of result is considered and shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the High Court of Hyderabad only. HALL TICKET The candidate should download the Hall Ticket from website eamcet.tsche.ac.in COUNSELLING AND ALLOTMENT OF SEATS The list of institutions for allotment of candidates with intake in each discipline and category, as per reservations through TSEAMCET 2018 would be released in the Information Booklet for Counseling in due course by the State Council of Higher Education and the same information would also be released on website http://www.tsche.ac.in XVIII IMPTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES 1. Material to be brought on the date of examination Hall Ticket along with Filled In Online Application Form with duly affixed recent colour photograph attested by Gazetted Officer (or) Principal of the College where candidate has studied the qualifying examination. In this form, Left hand Thumb Impression of the 5

candidate to be done well in advance (atleast a day before the examination day) in the space provided. However, the candidate has to submit this Filled In Online Application form to the invigilator after signing in the presence of Invigilator. However, Signature of the candidate and Left Hand Thumb impression is to be filled in the respective spaces provided in the Filled In Online Application form in the presence of Invigilator only. 2. Other important instructions a. Hall ticket issued to the candidate is an important document. Candidates are required to preserve it carefully. b. Hall ticket is not transferable. Any tampering of Hall Ticket will automatically lead to the disqualification of the candidate. c. Candidate shall arrive at the examination hall atleast an hour before commencement of the examination. This will enable the candidate to familiarize himself/herself with Online examination d. Candidates will not be allowed to enter examination hall once the examination has commenced. e. Candidates are required to bring the following to the examination hall: i) Hall Ticket ii) A good Ball Point Pen (Blue or Black) iii) Filled In Online Application Form with Photo affixed and attested and iv) Attested copy of Caste certificate (in case of SC/ST category candidates only who have not provided the Caste Certificate Application Number during the Online submission). f. Besides the items listed in Serial No. (2.e) above, the candidate should not bring any other material. This instruction sheet also should not be brought into the examination hall. Candidates should not bring Log books, Tables, Calculators, Pagers, Cell Phones etc., into the examination hall. Any candidate found in possession of any forbidden material will be sent out of the examination hall. g. The candidate shall read carefully the instructions before he/she starts answering the questions in attempting the Online examination. h. Candidates must remain seated in their allotted places till the completion of the examination. In no case they will be allowed to leave the examination hall till the end of the examination. i. Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given for answering and other entries for writing the Online examination j. The Question Paper given to the candidate shall consist of 160 questions (multiple choice type) in three different sections subject wise with four responses given to each question out of which only one response is correct for the given question. k. Candidates are required to answer all the questions. All questions carry equal marks. There is no negative mark for incorrect answer. 3. Instructions to be followed for Computer Based Test 1. Total duration of examination is 180 minutes. 2. The clock will be set at the server. The countdown timer in the top right corner of screen will display the remaining time available for you to complete the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself. You will not be required to end or submit your examination 4. The Question Palette displayed on the right side of screen will show the status of each question using symbols followed by below description: The Marked for Review status for a question simply indicates that you would like to look at that question again. If a question is answered and Marked for Review, your answer for that question will be considered in the evaluation. Click on the ">" arrow button to maximize the question window. To view the question palette again, you can click on "<" which appears on the right side of question window. 5. To answer a question, do the following: a. Click on the question number in the Question Palette at the right of your screen to go to that numbered question directly. Note that using this option does NOT save your answer to the current question. b. Click on Save &Next to save your answer for the current question and then go to the next question. c. Click on Mark for Review & Next to save your answer for the current question, mark it for review, and then go to the next question. 6. Procedure for answering a multiple choice type question: a. To answer a question, Click on the button against the chosen option among the given four options. b. To change your chosen answer, click on the button of another option c. To deselect your chosen answer, click on the button of the chosen option again or click on the Clear Response button d. To save your answer, you MUST click on the Save & Next button e. The question(s) "Answered and Marked for Review" will be considered for evaluation. f. Marked for Review status for a question simply indicates that you would like to look at that question again. The question(s) "Marked for Review" will not be considered for evaluation. Hence, no marks will be allocated for the same. 7. To change your answer to a question that has already been answered, first select that question for answering and then follow step 6(b) above. 8. Note that ONLY Questions for which answers are saved or marked for review after answering will be considered for evaluation. 6

The section you are currently viewing is highlighted. 10. After clicking the Save & Next button on the last question for a section, you will automatically be taken to the first question of the next section. 11. You can shuffle section(subject) and questions anytime during the examination as per your convenience only during the time stipulated 12. ANNEXURE DEFINITION OF LOCAL / NON - LOCAL STATUS 1. A Candidate shall be regarded as a local Candidate in relation to a local area (AU/OU/SVU) 1.1 If he/she has studied in an Educational Institution or Educational Institutions in such local area for a period of not less than four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or first appeared in the relevant qualifying examination as the case may be. 1.2 Where, during the whole or any part of the four consecutive academic years in which he/she appeared, or first appeared in the relevant qualifying examination, he/she has not studied in any educational institutions, if he/she resided in that local area for a period of not less than four years immediately preceding the date of commencement of the relevant qualifying examination in which he/she appeared, or first appeared, as the case may be. 2. A candidate who is not regarded as local candidate under clause (1.1) above in relation to any local area shall 2.1 If he/she studied in the educational institutions in the state for a period of not less than seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination as the case may be, be regarded as a local candidate in relation to i. Such local area where he/she studied for the maximum period out of period of seven years. ii. Where the period of his/her study in two or more local areas is equal, such local area where he/she studied last in such equal periods. 2.2 If during the whole or any part of the seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, he/she has not studied in the educational institutions, in any local area, but has resided in the state during the whole of the said period of seven years, be regarded as a local candidate in relation to i. Such local area where he/she has resided for the maximum period out of the said period of seven years. ii. Where the period of his/her residence in two or more local areas is equal such local area where he/she had resided last in such periods. Note: 1. Local area in respect of Andhra University (A.U. area) includes Nagarjuna University area. In respect of Sri Venkateswara University (S.V.U. area), it includes Sri Krishnadevaraya University area. In respect of Osmania University (O.U. area), it includes Kakatiya University area. 2. The Candidate belonging to PIO / OCI category will be considered as under non local category only. 3. Candidates coming under any of the categories given below and not satisfying the conditions mentioned in 1 or 2 above are treated as Non-Local to all the three University areas specified above. a. Candidates who have resided in the state of T.S./ A.P. for a total period of 10 years or more excluding the period of study outside this state. b. Candidates either of whose parents has resided in this state for a total period of 10 years or more excluding the periods of employment outside the state c. Candidates either of whose parents is employed in the State of T.S./A.P. or Central Government Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar quasi Government Institutions within this state, at the time of submitting the application d. Candidates who are spouses of those employed in the State of T.S./A.P. or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar quasi Government Institutions within this state, at the time of submitting the application.
