Before you begin the elective registration process, you should be aware that students register for the ENTIRE 2015-2016 SCHOOL EAR at one time during the March registration period. Read over all of the elective course descriptions to become familiar with courses that will be offered. Be sure to pay close attention to L-courses, -courses, and.5-courses taken for 45 days during a semester. 2. Write down the (4) core courses (1 each from English, Math, Science, and Social Studies) for which you were recommended by your teacher and have at least four (4) elective courses in mind to help you fill out your sample schedule as well as some alternates. Choose alternate electives wisely as it is very likely one or more will end up on your schedule. 3. *Students who do not complete the registration process will have their courses for next year selected for them by Administration and Counseling. Requests for schedule changes will not be honored. 4. ou are allowed a maximum of one PE course per semester. 5. Please keep in mind that many A/B courses come with a pre-determined pairing. For example, if you sign up for Honors Spanish IV, you will automatically have AP Spanish V paired with it as well. Other A/B pairings offer options, so please be mindful of what those options are. 6. Courses selected during registration should be considered final. Students will have the opportunity to review their schedules and request changes during schedule preview prior to the end of this school year. Please understand that it is not possible to honor requests for specific teachers, lunch periods or class placement within the day. The last day to request schedule changes for the 2015-2016 academic year will be during schedule previews in April/May.

CTAE (Career, Technical and Agricultural Education) GRAPHIC DESIGN Intro to Graphics & Design will teach you all about graphic design how to use Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Learn basics of criminal law, forensic crime investigations, and police station operations. This class meets every day for a single semester. Criminal Justice Essentials L emphasizes the structure of the American legal system while examining constitutional legal issues. FAMIL AND CONSUMER SCIENCE Intro to Culinary Arts will teach you all about the fundamentals needed to work immediately in the food service industry. Want to become a chef, own a restaurant,or operate a catering company? This class will get you there. This class meets every day for a single semester. Culinary Arts 1 L includes the development of skills in food safety and sanitation, accident and injury prevention, kitchen basics, operating and maintaining commercial utensils, and preparation of commercial food. Meets every other day for the entire school year and you will have a choice on the pairing. Possible pairings: Intermediate Band, Intermediate Orchestra, Outdoor Ed, Weight Training, Survey of Engineering Graphics, 3D Modeling and Analysis, Audio & Video 2 and AVID 2 or Avid 3. Culinary Arts 2 enhances competencies by providing a broader exposure to the food and hospitality industry including controlling costs, food management functions and customer relations. BROADCAST/VIDEO PRODUCTIONS Audio & Video Tech 1 will develop skills in basic theory, practice, and operations of a television studio, the portable camera, and videotape editing. Students can learn how to operate a camera, edit using Adobe Premiere, and be a part of a working TV show either on camera or behind the scenes. This class meets every day for a single semester. Audio & Video Tech 2 L will enhance level-one skills by providing more in-depth and specialized experiences in video and film equipment operation. Meets every other day for the entire school year and you will have a choice on the pairing. Audio & Visual Tech 3 will enhance level-two skills by providing entry level occupational skills. This course will also assist in producing the live television show to be aired during LASSO. This class meets every day for a fall semester and is automatically paired with Audio & Visual Productions 4 spring semester. Audio & Video Tech 4 will enhance level-three skills by providing entry level occupational skills. This course will be the on-air talent for the live show as well as Unbelieve-A-Beef. This class meets every day for a single semester and is automatically paired with Audio & Visual Production LAB. MARKETING Marketing Principles will introduce learners to marketing strategies, different meanings for different businesses, as well as teach you about the different approaches that affect marketing campaigns. Possible pairings: AP World History, AP Psychology, AP Statistics, Forensics & Criminal Investigations, First Aid Safety, Team Sports, Beginning Band, Advanced Orchestra and CVA or GVS on-line class. NAVAL CAREER NJROTC Navy 1 teaches Navy leadership skills as applied to drills and unit organizational duties. An introduction to naval physical fitness, military drills with rifles and related health topics are covered. This class meets every day and is automatically paired with Navy 2 for the next semester. NJROTC Navy 2 includes the study of nautical plotting, rules and regulations and aids to navigation. Other topics covered include oceanography, military commands, the study of naval intelligence, and national security. This class meets every day for one semester and is automatically paired with Navy 3. NJROTC Navy 3 includes the study of geopolitics and opposing theories, along with the study of meteorology, astronomy, and naval electronics basic radar and sonar theory. This class meets every day for one semester and is automatically paired with Navy 4. NJROTC Navy 4 includes the study of navy career fields for officer and enlisted specialists, military justice and the international laws of the seas, as well as naval research and development. This class only meets second semester. World Languages SPANISH Spanish 1 introduces the language and culture of Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries. Spanish 2 is designed to further develop listening, speaking, reading and writing with an emphasis on oral proficiency. Key vocabulary and grammar is acquired for limited personal communication.
