CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS Broward Early Childhood Education Conference February 3, 2018 The Early Learning Coalition of Broward County, Inc. (ELC) and its partners are committed to providing professional development opportunities to the child care community of Broward County. As a result, each year the ELC hosts an early childhood conference for early childhood educators and other early care professionals who work with young children (birth to 5 years). The conference for the 17/18 school year is scheduled to take place on February 3, 2018 from 7:00 am 3:30 pm and will be held at Broward College s North Campus: 1000 Coconut Creek Blvd. Coconut Creek, FL 33066. The Conference will provide five hours (.5) of Continuing Education Units (CEUs). We invite all interested individuals to share your expertise by submitting a proposal. Attendees include teachers, assistants, directors, family child care home providers, and community partners in a related field. Each presentation should align with the 2011 Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for Four-Year-Olds and the Florida Core Competencies for Early Care and Education Practitioners. The primary focus for the conference is Behavior Management and Positive Behavior Strategies in the Classroom. Our goal is to enable early childhood professionals to learn best practices, and, therefore, we welcome workshop proposals that relates to the subject matter or in support of promoting positive behaviors. Proposals will be accepted in all areas related to the targeted teacher and director population/ The conference includes one (1) general morning session with a keynote speaker, one (1) AM workshop session, one (1) PM workshop session and lunch. Each workshop session will be for two hours. A complimentary conference registration fee and lunch are offered to presenters. You may also reserve half of an exhibitor table at no cost if so desired. Presenters are responsible for providing all hand-outs and any other supplies needed for the presentation. If you presented last year, feel free to resubmit the same or updated proposal (as long as it relates to the subject matter. A review panel will select the workshop proposals based on relevance Page 2

of subject matter, qualifications of the presenters, and the quality of the proposal. The lead presenter will be notified upon acceptance of the workshop proposal. Interested individuals must complete the attached Workshop Presenter Proposal form and return to the ELC by Friday, September 8, 2018. Writing Measureable Outcomes: Directions: Write your outcome in the space provided. Under what conditions do you want the learner to be able to do it?
