ARTS COMMUNITY NETWORK Through our Arts Community Network (ACN), LAUSD supports organizations that enhance our students arts education experience, and complement the work of our certificated arts teachers.

When we send professional ARTS COMMUNITY teaching NETWORK artists directly into the classroom, the learning environment is transformed. When students visit a museum, theater, concert hall, dance studio, film set, or cultural institution, they deepen their understanding of our city and our world.

ARTS EQUITY INDEX (AEI) The Arts Equity Index (AEI) categorizes all LAUSD schools based on the scope of their provided arts instruction, arts resources, arts professional development, Title 1 Status, and Student Equity Index (Poverty, Foster Students, English Language Learners). Based on their AEI category (1 - grossly underserved, 2 underserved, 3 developing, 4 satisfactory), assessments are taken to provide more equity of arts resources and services, and to ensure that all students have appropriate arts access and instruction.

ARTS EQUITY INDEX (AEI) Action Steps taken: New arts teachers have been placed in the most underserved schools in the district. $3 million in arts allocations have been provided to all schools based upon their AEI category. Community Arts Partners are serving highneed schools (Quartile 1 and 2) with inschool and after-school programs.

CONTRACTS A Bench is defined as a roster of qualified firms to provide the same services. Zero dollar value (zero-based) Master Services Agreements (MSA) are established for each firm on the Bench. During the period of performance, the District intends to issue Work Orders to the firms on the Bench in accordance with the rates and terms and conditions of the Master Services Agreement. At the sole discretion of the District, Work Orders will be issued on an As Needed basis, against the Master Services Agreement(s). Contract award and/or Work Orders do not guarantee work and should not be construed as making successful proposers the exclusive providers of the requested services.

CONTRACTS Contracts are sent to vendors, and then signed by vendor and returned to Procurement Services (roxanna.vela@lausd.net) for final signature before work begins. Work cannot begin until contracts are fully executed. Expect contracts by January 2017.

Work Flow Contracts are fully executed. School and Contractor agree on service & rates as per contract Statement of Work. Both parties complete their portion of the Work Order form. School submits completed Work Order form to Arts Education Branch (AEB) for approval via email: Steven McCarthy steven.mccarthy@lausd.net

Work Order Form

Work Order is approved. A Purchase Order (PO) is processed. AEB notifies vendor of Purchase Order (PO). Vendor can begin services.

Invoice Schedule and Payment Process All information related to invoice schedule, invoice requirements, and payment process will be included in your contract.

Reaching out to LAUSD Schools The Arts Education Branch will work with you to build new relationships with our most underserved schools, and to strengthen existing relationships with our schools that are low on the AEI (Quartile 1 & 2). If you would like to begin approaching new school partners, please let them know that your services will be funded by the Arts Education Branch, and will be of no cost to them.

Arts Partner Talking Points The AEB is funding community arts partners to provide services This service will be of no cost to the school These services are for schools low on the AEI (Quartile 1 and 2) This funding was approved by the School Board Be prepared to share your arts services in detail Vendor will complete their portion of the Work Order form and give to school to finalize Principals that agree to be a partnering school will need to sign the Work Order form and submit it to the AEB

Documentation Once services begin, please keep documentation of: After School Sign-in Sheets for after school programs (per session) School Day Student Rosters for school day programs A Community Arts Specialist will provide you with program assessment tools and materials (to be shared at a later time)

Because we are working together the future is in good hands!
