ABOUT THE CONFERENCE This seminar is methodically structured and designed to address the curricular lag between the prescribed study material and the skill sets required by the pharmaceutical industry. Despite sound theoretical knowledge in the subject even good students have little opportunity for hands on experiential learning. This conference will provide a platform for delineating recent trends and research innovations including current professional practices. Practical hands-on training in various analytical instruments, including FT-IR and HPLC, will be an added opportunity for students who rarely have access to advanced instrumentation. Training in molecular docking will be imparted by experts trained in the industry/institution. Interpretation of IR and other analytical techniques empower delegates to enhance their research potential. Analytical method development, chiefly in newer molecules and its validation would be a major session. An emerging trend in multi target drugs and Analytical Quality by Design Approach towards method development in the conference will be intellectually stimulating. ABOUT KSCSTE The Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) is an autonomous body under the ministry of S&T (Science and Technology), Kerala, constituted in November 2002 to be an agency for change and development through science and technology. The council promotes and activates programs for increasing the stock of knowledge in science, and fine tunes policies which are significant and for the sustained development of humanity. KSCSTE has a State Council headed by the Chief Minister of Kerala and an Executive council chaired by the Executive Vice President (EVP). ABOUT DEPARTMENT PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS The Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis has emerged as one of the premier departments of, equipped with state-of-art instrumental facilities such as HPLC with PDA detector, FT-IR, Spectroflourimeter, Electrophoresis, etc. Despite a recent history, the department has published many research articles in reputed International journals (Elsevier, Taylor and Francis, etc) with more than 100 citations in recent years. PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY The department of pharmaceutical chemistry's vision is to impart knowledge and skills in advanced pharmaceutical chemistry, in order to enable students to work in pharmaceutical industries and related R&D organizations. Research and post-graduate education in pharmaceutical chemistry emphasize on synthesis of organic medicinal products, examining the relationship between chemical structure and biological activity, qualitative and quantitative analysis of drugs and application of computational chemistry to drug design.the department has published research articles in reputed international journals.
