Abdur Rahman Crescent Engineering College,established in 1984, has blossomed out into B.S.Abdur Rahman University under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. M.TECH OPTOELECTRONICS & LASER TECHNOLOGY The M.Tech programme for optoelectronics and laser Technology has been developed realizing the rapidly growing need for well trained manpower in the field of optoelectronics and lasers. There is a vast demand for graduates specialized in such areas. A programme in this area will revolutionize the fields of information technology and communications, sensing, manufacturing, medicine and the frontiers of science into the next century. The programme helps to equip the students with an excellent knowledge of modern optics,lasers, detectors, optical waveguides and optical communication and to provide a range of experiences in research methods, data analysis and information technology. The main objective of this programme is to generate trained professionals in the area of optoelectronics, optical communication and lasers. It is an interdisciplinary programme and is jointly conducted by the department of Physics and the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Eligibility Master s degree in Physics / Electronics / Materials Science or B.E. / B.Tech degree in Electronics & Communication Engg. / Electrical & Electronics Engg. / Electronics & Instrumentation Engg. / Instrumentation & Control Engg. or Equivalent degree / Qualification from any recognized University or Institution DURATION AND STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAMME Full time 2 years consisting of 4 semesters Fees & Deposits The Fees & Deposits payable consist of Tuition fees each semester.
