BP 4235 Credit by External Examination This policy establishes the awarding of credit toward the Associate Degree General Education requirements at Napa Valley College, Califnia State University General Education (CSU GE), and/ the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) by earning qualifying sces f the College Board Advancement Placement Exams (AP); International Baccalaureate Exams(IB); and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) examinations. AR 4235 Credit by External Examination Administrative Regulations Napa Valley College shall award credit to students who have successfully completed AP, IB, and/ CLEP examinations. Credit shall be awarded on the following bases: 1. Napa Valley College shall apply Advanced Placement (AP) credit f those who have sced 3 higher, International Baccalaureate (IB) sce of 5 higher and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) examinations of a passing sce*, when certifying completion of Napa Valley College General Education requirements f obtaining an A.A/A.S. degree. 2. Napa Valley College shall apply Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) examination sces when certifying the completion of CSU-General Education/Breadth requirements in accdance with standards set by the CSU System. 3. Napa Valley College shall apply Advanced Placement (AP) and/ International Baccalaureate (IB) examination sces when certifying the completion of Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirements in accdance with the Standards, Policies & Procedures f Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC). *Passing sces f each exam appear on Napa Valley College AP, IB, CLEP Equivalency List f NVC Associate Degree GE, CSU GE, and IGETC If you plan to complete an associate degree a CSU IGETC certification with Napa Valley College, you must submit official AP, IB, CLEP exam results to a Counsel AND complete a request f an official Transcript Evaluation.
