One of the most important times of the school day is the morning homeroom period. This is the time when essential school news is announced, teachers define the plans for the day, and instructional goals are reviewed. The tone of the child s school day is set in the first part of the day. Please help support your children in learning habits that will not only help them be successful at school but throughout life. Students are expected to be on time each day. Arrival after 8:05 a.m. will be considered tardy. The student must come to the office with a parent or guardian to receive a late slip. Every five unexcused tardies in a trimester will result in a detention. Repeated lateness will be reviewed by administration to determine if a parent conference is needed to explore concerns. Reasons for excused tardiness include a doctor or dentist s appointment (A note is required). Unexcused tardiness includes any tardiness that does not fall into one of the previous excused tardiness categories. Starting in the 2 nd trimester, detention will be issued to students for every 5 unexcused tardies.
