5. Passing criteria: CA IPCC exams are conducted twice in a year, in the months of May and November. A student can take either single group at a time or give both the groups together. He/she should secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and an aggregate of 50% in each group to clear IPCC course. Tentatively, your exams in May 2017 will commence from 2 nd May, 2017 and you will get one day holiday after every examination. Your result of CA IPCC examination will be declared tentatively on 31 st July, 2017. 6. Exemption criteria: A candidate who has appeared in all the papers comprised in a group and fails in one or more papers comprised in that group but secures a minimum of 60% of the marks in any paper or papers of that group shall be eligible for exemption in that paper or papers in the next 3 following examinations. He shall be declared to have passed in that group if he secures at one sitting a minimum of 40% marks in each of the papers of that group and a minimum of 50% of the total marks of all the papers of that group including the paper/s in which he had secured a minimum of 60% marks in the earlier examination. He/she shall not be eligible for any further exemption in the remaining paper(s) of that group/unit until he/she has exhausted the exemption already granted to him in that group/unit. The exemption is automatic and will be found indicated in the statement of marks issued by the Institute.
7. What are the advantages of giving both groups in IPCC together? It is always good to give both Groups together and my first recommendation is always to give both groups in first attempt. (a) Considered for Ranks, if appearing in both groups simultaneously If you score well, you will get a Rank. If you give one by one group, you never have any chances of getting a rank. ICAI has stopped giving ranks in CA CPT but at IPCC and Final level, ranks are awarded from 1 to 50. (b) Set-off is possible, if appearing in both groups simultaneously Say a student got 230 in Group I and 120 in Group II, with 350 marks in total; he will be treated to have passed CA IPCC both groups in his first attempt. (c) Good Placement with reputed CA Firms, if appearing in both groups simultaneously If you are looking for training/ placement with a reputed CA Firm, you should opt for both groups simultaneously. Additionally, your CV will look more attractive. 8. 100 hours Information Technology Training (ITT) and 35 hours Orientation Course: You need to undergo 100 hours ITT and 35 hours Orientation Course at ICAI Bhawan, Sector 35, Chandigarh either before appearing in IPCC Examinations or before commencement of practical training. 9. CA Articleship Training: Under the Present Scheme of Education & Training 3 years of articleship training has been designed to strike a balance between theoretical education and practical training. You should shortlist certain CA Firms even before IPCC result is declared. As soon as the result is declared, submit your CV to the shortlisted CA Firms and start your training in the month of August 2017.
10. General Management & Communication Skills (GMCS) and Advanced ITT First GMCS for 15 days during first year of articleship training. Second GMCS for 15 days during 19-36 months of articleship training. Advanced ITT during the 3 rd year of training but before appearing in the final examination. 11. Final Examination: You must have completed the practical training of minimum two and half years to be eligible for CA Final attempt. So in your case, earliest CA Final attempt will be in May 2020. CA Final has two groups comprising of 4 papers each. Your result of CA Final examination will be declared tentatively on 13 th July, 2020. You will complete your training in August 2020 and then you will be a Qualified Chartered Accountant. All the best. Warm regards, Team PCA iq A premier Coaching Institute for CA, CS in Chandigarh
