STUDENTS GYMKHANA NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FOUNDRY & FORGE TECHNOLOGY, RANCHI SUMMARY REPORT JINKS 15-Pranav 15 As every year, the Students Gymkhana, NIFFT Ranchi has successfully organized its All India Cultural & Techno-management fest JINKS-Pranav. The 2015 version of fest was based on the theme of Glorious Jharkhand & the Social Initiative was Swachh bharat Abhiyan. This year the fest was held during 20-22 nd February, 2015. The student participation observed was quite high compared to its previous version & we encountered students from different premier institutions of country viz. IIT kharagpur, ISM Dhanbad, IIM Ranchi, NIFT Kolkata, XIMB, NIT Raipur, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Durgapur, NIT Patna, CUJ Ranchi, NUSRL Ranchi, XISS Ranchi, BIT Mesra & from various other educational institutes of Ranchi and eastern zone. The corporate help gathered for this year is also applaudable; for JINKS 15- Pranav 15 we received sponsorship (in kind & cash) from TATA Metaliks, TATA Motors, TATA Tayo Rolls, MECON Ltd, CANARA Bank, Yo-China, Hotel Raso, ebay, LINE, Café Coffee Day, Lenskart, Usha Martin,Vodafone, BIG FM, Dainik Bhaskar, Gateforum, GATE Academy, TIME, Career Launcher & various other help was also gathered from the local market of Ranchi. The Government of Jharkhand also helped us in a very generous manner; the sponsorship was gathered from Department of Tourism, Department of Art, Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Department of Forest & Environment, JREDA, Department of Sanitation & Drinking Water and JHARCRAFT. Below mentioned are some of the important events of JINKS 15-Pranav 15:- 1. INAUGRATION:- The trumpet of fest was blown by the lightning of lamps during the inauguration of JINKS 15-Pranav 15. For this, the Chief Guest was Mr. Avijit Ghosh, CMD,HEC & Guest of Honour was Mr. A.P. Singh, Director(Engineering), MECON Ltd. Among the other dignitaries, we had Prof. P.P. Chattopadhyay, Director, NIFFT and Dr. K.K. Singh, Chairman, Students Gymkhana, NIFFT, Ranchi. Mr.Shashank Priya, President, Students Gymkhana gave its opening comment and focussed light on JINKS 15-Pranav 15 and the journey so far. Dr. K.K. Singh gave its welcome note and told about importance about these type of events. Mr. Avijit Ghosh and Mr. A.P. Singh also applauded students for these initiatives & finally Prof. P.P. Chattopadhyay given its closing note. 2. Blood Donation Camp- Blood Donation Camp set up by RIMS, Ranchi, & JSACS where students, faculty members and the general crowd donated blood to save the precious lives of people.

3. NGO Conclave-. Major non-governmental organizations, including Kartavya NIFFT, Naman Foundation, Drishti etc. participated. The theme was Social Entrepreneurship by the youth 4. Mech Struct-: It was co-ordinated by Mr. Saurabh Garg & Mr. Amit yadav of NIFFT with participation from several major colleges like St. Xaviers College, NIFFT, Ranchi Women s College, Central University of Jharkhand, CIT, Tatisilwai. Using only the wooden ice-cream sticks, fevicol and their sharp minds, the participants created brilliant sturdy structures in teams of two to three within the time period of two hours. There were about thirty teams offering some serious competition to one another. 5. Manual Robotics- An arena was set up in which the manual and autonomous bots had to pass a given circuit which was filled with obstacles such as pebbles, sand and bricks. The event was participated by colleges from Central University of Jharkhand, Women s College, Ranchi and Nirmala College, Ranchi. 6. Srijan- This event tested the basic fundamentals of construction, design and one s ability to apply common sense. The students had to design a solution to the given problem statement using any modelling tool and give it a new dimension. 7. Dumb-Charades- The first event of the Informalz section of JINKS provided the pre-requisite humour in the event. The event took place with about 50 teams registering to enact a given film or idiom based on chit-picking system. 8. T- Shirt Painting Competition- The second event of Informalz section of JINKS, took place in two rounds. About 30 groups participated in the event out of which 17 were shortlisted after the preliminary round where the groups were given to paint on an A-4 size sheet. In the final round, the 17 teams were given a T- Shirt to paint on any random theme. The event was won by Rina Kumari and Sharda Minz from Women s College, Ranchi followed by Amrita Singh & Priya Dutta of the same college. 9. Cacophony- The third event of Informalz, particularly generated a large footfall. The event was one of its kind where the guests looked for the best- worst singing student. 10. Guest Lectures- The Guest Lecture for this year was focused on multidisciplinary topics. For it, we had eminent environmentalist Mr. Mahadeo Mahto, founder of Taru Bandhan Project & President Award Winner, Dr. Anant Sinha, Director, Dev Kamal Hospital,Dr. Sinha is renowned plastic surgeon & burn specialist and we also had Chief Editor of Dainik Bhaskar. NIGHT EVENT First Night(20 th May,2015) On first night, Thirkan( Choreography) & Paridhan (Fashion Show) was organized. For this we had participation from around 20 institutes. The special performance for the night was by eminent Chhau Dance Expert Padamshree Pt. Gopal Prasad Dubey. Second Night (21 st May,2015) The opening performance started with Kavya Sandhya by the eminent Laughter Poet, Padamshree Pt. Sunil Jogi & after that we had i-rock (Band

Competition) for the students; the participation was from 15 different institutions Third Night (22 nd May,2015) The opening performance was organized by the BIG FM, where RJ Gaurav binded the crowd with witty jokes & chit-chat. The attraction for the night was famous bollywood singer Ms. Shilpa Rao & the night came to an end by band show and EDM night. Apart from the above listed events, we also had Essay competition, Extempore, Metasymposium, 3D Modelling, General & Technical Quiz, B-Plan, Insight(paper presentation) and various other more than 50 events spanned over three days.
