How To Use The Transfer Guide In accordance with the UW System transfer policy, UW-L can accept up to a maximum of 72 credits from the Wisconsin Technical College System institutions without first having earned an associate degree. Program to Program Agreements: The guide begins by listing the Program to Program articulation agreements that currently exist between Western and UW-La Crosse. Please contact the Admissions Office at UW-La Crosse for specific information regarding these agreements. General Education Program Course Requirements: The guide also provides an outline of the General Education Program course requirements that all students at UW-La Crosse must complete as part of their degree program. Page 3 of this guide provides a listing of the Western Technical College 100 & 200 level courses which are applicable toward the General Education Program at UW-La Crosse. Pages 4-5 provide a listing of the General Education course equivalencies. Additional Course to Course Agreements: Students transferring from Western Technical College may be able to transfer certain occupational and technical credits in addition to those listed on pages 3-5 of this guide. Please see page 6 for a listing of additional course to course articulations. Emphases *Note: Students transferring from Western Technical College who have earned an Associate of Science in Liberal Arts degree are exempt from the UW-La Crosse General Education Program requirements. Students accepted under this two-year transfer policy are required, however, to meet the university Minority Culture/Multiracial Women s Studies requirement as well as all core, professional, major and minor requirements. 2

UW - LA CROSSE GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM WITH COURSE EQUIVALENTS FOR Western Technical College Students must earn a minimum of 48 credits of General Education (GE) courses; however, the minimum number of credits in the following GE categories only totals 39 credits. Therefore, a student must take an additional 9 credits. These 9 credits can be from any combination of categories.
