Pre-AP vs. Advanced Pre AP Pre AP courses are designed to prepare students for success in AP courses that are taught on a college level, and for which college credit can be earned. The course is also designed for success in scoring in the Advanced category of the state mandated STAAR test for graduation. Average homework nightly: 45 minutes- 1 hour minimum Required reading of book outside of class Much of the course is teacher initiated, student directed Out-of-class projects Minimum to slightly more than the minimum required daily grades according to FBISD policy 1st Semester: Study skills, learning exercises, and various note-taking strategies are taught and practiced with teacher guidance. 2nd Semester: Students are expected to choose appropriate styles and apply them to assigned activities. Advanced The Advanced course is designed to prepare students for success in future high school Social Studies courses and success on passing the state mandated STAAR test for graduation. Average homework nightly: 10-15 minutes Course is teacher directed In-class projects Opportunity for more than minimum required daily grades according to FBISD policy. 1st and 2nd Semesters: Study skills and note-taking strategies are taught and practiced with teacher guidance.

The basics about AP Advanced Placement Program (AP ) courses are college-level courses offered in high school. AP courses reflect what is taught in top introductory college courses At the end of course, students take AP Exams standardized exams that measure how well students have mastered college-level course work. Students t who do well on AP Exams can earn credit and/or placement into advanced courses in college.
Pre- AP Keys to Success Study time- Make sure students spend some time studying every day. Time Management- AP courses are college courses, but they are not on college time. Tutorials- Coming to tutorials can become a valuable asset especially as test time approaches
