THE OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE GRANT PARISH SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF GRANT, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, JUNE 6, 2017, The Parish School Board of the Parish of Grant, State of Louisiana, met in its regular meeting place, the Grant Parish School Board Office, Colfax, Louisiana, in Regular Session, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 6:00 o clock P.M. There were present Mrs. Mary Bullock, Mr. Mr. Buddy Pennison, Mrs. Lisa Roberts, Mrs. Charlene Anderson, and Mr. Bill Riggs. All of the Board Members were not present, Mrs. Karen Layton, Mr. A. D. Futrell, and Mr. Randy Browning, were absent. Mrs. Sheila S. Jackson, Secretary-Treasurer was also present. The Parish School Board of the Parish of Grant, State of Louisiana, was duly convened by Mrs. Charlene Anderson, President of the Grant Parish School Board, who then stated that the Grant Parish School Board was ready to transact any business which may come before the Board. Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mrs. Roberts and unanimously approved the April 4, 2017 Regular Meeting Minutes. The following Recognitions were made: Rebecca Young for 13 years Perfect Attendance, Grant High School Student. Grant High School JROTC Drill Team: Ben Clement, Morgan Durand, Adam Fry, Harley Gore, Will Gresham, Colton Jackson, Trey Lasseigne, Josh Milner, Jessie Morgan, Ben Nettles, Nathan Price, John Reech, and Colton Thorne. Georgetown High School Valedictorian: Laura White and Salutatorian: Shanya Canoe. Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mr. Riggs and unanimously approved the following Finance Committee items: 1. Budget revision to Pollock Elementary District Funds for Repair and Maintenance projects, $8,500 for floors on white building and $1,500 for painting 2. Budget revision to South Grant Elementary District Funds for Repair and Maintenance projects, $15,000 for portable storage room and portable classroom 3. Budget revisions to Grant Jr. High School District Funds for Repair and Maintenance Projects, $6,500 concrete work on bus drop off 4. Permission to redo tile in gym lobby at Georgetown High School, $8,200 using current year district money 5. Consider payment #3 to Johnny Williams Plumbing in the amount of $342,553.63 for work completed on the Grant High School AC Project 6. Consider payment #4 to Johnny Williams Plumbing in the amount of $106,119.00 for work completed on the Grant High School AC Project The report on the Grant Jr. High Ball Fields was put on hold. Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mrs. Roberts and unanimously approved requesting a 60 day no cost extension to consider new exhaust fans on the Grant High School AC Project. The following report was discussed: Bus Fire Update Mrs. Paula Crawford discussed with the Board, Update on the career ready 101, work keys, FASFA, and the JumpStart Summer Program at Montgomery High School. Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mr. Riggs and unanimously approved rescheduling the July board meeting scheduled for July 4, 2017 to July 6, 2017. Motion by Mrs. Roberts, seconded by Mr. Pennison and unanimously approved To announce that the Grant Parish School Board of the Parish of Grant, State of Louisiana, plans to consider substituting a resolution ordering and calling an election to be held within the Parish of Grant, State of Louisiana, to approve the renewals of taxes currently being levied at its meeting on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 6:00p.m. at the Grant Parish School Board Office, 512 Main Street, Colfax, Louisiana. 2

Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mrs. Roberts and unanimously approved the Property Insurance and Boiler and Machinery Insurance being awarded to Brown and Brown. Motion by Mrs. Bullock, seconded by Mrs. Roberts and unanimously approved the following Budgets: 2017-18 Preliminary General Fund operation Budget, 2018-18 Preliminary Parishwide and District Budgets, 2017-18 Preliminary Lunch Fund Operational Budget, and all other 2017-18 Budgets. Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mrs. Bullock and unanimously approved a Budget Work Session for Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 5:00pm. 11
Motion by Mrs. Roberts, seconded by Mr. Pennison and unanimously approved resolution for Electronic Banking Services with regard to authorize signatures for ACH deposits. 12
Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mrs. Bullock and unanimously approved the administrative contract for July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2019. Receive for approval at the July Board meeting the Athletic Handbook for the 2017-2018 school year. Receive for approval at the July Board meeting the 2017-2018 Parish Student Handbook. Receive for approval at the July Board meeting the adoption at the July 2017 meeting policies DIE (Records Retention), DJE (Purchasing) and DJED (Bids and Quotations). Receive for approval at the July Board meeting the Regulations for the Evaluation and Assessment of School Personnel for 2017-2018. Motion by Mrs. Anderson, seconded by Mrs. Bullock and unanimously approved TIF Grant Job Description. 13
Motion by Mr. Riggs, seconded by Mr. Pennison and unanimously approved Student and Faculty Handbooks for: Georgetown High School, Grant Jr. High School, Montgomery High School, Pollock Elementary School, South Grant Elementary School, and Verda Elementary School. Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mrs. Roberts and unanimously approved the 2017-2018 12 Month Employee Calendar. Motion by Mrs. Roberts, seconded by Mrs. Bullock and unanimously approved the revised policy JGB, School Wwllness. Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mr. Riggs and unanimously approved Resolution to accept and enter into agreement with Rapides Foundation for Effective School and Mrs. Sheila S. Jackson or Mrs. Rebecca Reeder can sign. 14
Receive for approval at the July Board meeting the Grant High School Student and Faculty Handbooks. WM, requested to enroll in the Grant Parish School System, did not attend school board meeting. Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mrs. Bullock and unanimously approved entering into executive session to discuss Potential Litigation. Motion by Mr. Pennison, seconded by Mrs. Roberts and unanimously approved returning to regular session. The Superintendent discussed with Board Members: Colfax Redesign Planning Grant, Part 1: Assessment of External Factors Influencing Financial Behavior of School Districts Fiscal Year 2016-2017, CNN 10, Personnel Report, Financial Reports, Calendars, and LSBA: Southern Region Leadership Conference.
