BOARD OF EDUCATION PLATO R-V SCHOOL DISTRICT REGULAR BOARD MEETING March 8, 2018 MEMBERS PRESENT MEMBERS ABSENT Doug Caldwell Darrell Thomas Penny Morrison Clint Todd Eric Crews Joanne Daniels Andy Cook OTHERS PRESENT Dr. Kim Hawk, Superintendent Justin Copley, Middle/High School Principal Veronica Vergara, Elementary School Principal Stacy Fletcher, Special Education/Instructional Programs Director Tammy Atterberry, Administrative Assistant CALL TO ORDER The Plato R-V School District Board of Education, Plato, Missouri, met in regular session on March 8, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the school FEMA building-chrome Room, Plato R-V School, Plato, Missouri. The board president, Doug Caldwell, declared a quorum was present and called the meeting to order, due notice having been mailed and published. CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS Motion to approve consent items to include: Amended Agenda, minutes of the February 8, 2018 Regular Board Meeting, Financial Report and the Payment of Bills was made by Andy Cook, seconded by Eric Crews, and carried unanimously. Patron and student discussion : None MSTA & CTA Representative : Mrs. Studinski shared CTA will hold the next meeting March 21, 2018 to determine senior scholarship recipient.

Recognition : 5 th Grade Student Council members: Clayton Cannon, Tanner Atterberry and Drew Woodruff for their Pennies for Patients Project. Penny Morrison for serving twelve years on the Plato Board of Education. OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS Discussion: School Safety Review JAG (Jobs for America s Graduates; GOCAPS (Greater Ozarks Center for Advanced Professional Studies); Launch (Virtual Learning) Motion was made to approve JAG partnership/grant, GOCAPS partnership and Launch partnership by Clint Todd, seconded by Eric Crews, and carried unanimously. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS Elementary Principal: Written report and review Middle/High School Principal: Written report and review; In addition to the written report: The Someone Special & Me Semi-Formal Dance sponsored by Beta Club and FBLA was well attended. Thank you to Donna Groves Photography for donating picture proceeds to Beta Club and FBLA. Thank you to Jay Thomas for working hard to add Student Collective Commitments for the student body. Mr. Branstetter received a the Bennett Springs State Park Grant. Kim Belleisle received $2,500 from Donors Choose to purchase STEM materials for after school programs. The Middle School brought home first place in the annual Frisco League Spelling Bee held on March 8, 2018. Superintendent: Written report and review EXECUTIVE SESSION Motion was made to move into executive session at 8:56 p.m. for the purpose of discussing and/or approving real estate transactions, students and personnel was made by Joanne Daniels, seconded by Andy Cook, and carried unanimously. 2

ITEMS FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION Personnel Support Classified Staff 610.021(3): Motion was made to hire Connie Hazelwood, certified teacher effective August 13, 2018; Bonnie Cotrel, Assistant Track Coach for the 2017-2018 school year; Gabriel Pruett, AmeriCorp Summer VSA, part time custodian and substitute bus driver pending compliance with all approved background checks and references; Erica Crews, Chelsea Newsome, Devin Atterberry and Abigail Dieman, Summer VSA by Clinton Todd, seconded by Eric Crews and carried unanimously. Motion was made to hire probationary teachers: Jessica Brewton, Megan Chatman, Bonnie Cotrel, Laura Downing, Sarah DuBose, Stephanie Greiner, Ben Phillips and Delana Pleasants, for the 2018-2019 school year by Clint Todd, seconded by Eric Crews, and carried unanimously. Motion was made to hire probationary teacher, Heather Copley, for the 2018-2019 school year by Darrell Thomas, seconded by Clint Todd, and carried. Ayes = 6 Nays = 0 Abstentions = 1 (Morrison) Motion was made to hire the attached slate of extra-curricular positions for the 2018-2019 school year by Clint Todd, seconded by Eric Crews, and carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT There being no other business to come before the Board of Education at this time, on motion duly made, by Penny Morrison, seconded by Joanne Daniels, and carried unanimously, meeting adjourned.
