Dear Student, At the outset the management, faculty and staff of Christ University would like to congratulate you on your graduation! Graduates from the Deanery of Commerce and Management, School of Law (All Programmes under Management & School of Law). will gather on Saturday, 28 May 2016 at Christ University Main Auditorium for convocation. I am sure that you are eager to know more about your graduation and programmes followed thereafter so that you can make plans and complete the requirements. This guide provides information about academic attire, reporting time, venue for reporting, procession timing, guest passes, photography facility by professional photographers and other guidelines to be followed during the convocation ceremony. Distribution of robes is only between 10:00 AM to 1 :00 PM from the respective rooms. Students arriving after 1 :00 PM w i ll not be provided with robes, will not be allowed to join the procession and will not receive the graduation certificates on stage. Students will have to sign and acknowledge the receipt of robes. Students are strictly not permitted to go outside the campus after collecting their robes. Lunch will be served within the campus for students and guests. Robes are to be returned immediately after the convocation in Rooms allotted.
Students are to report back to the allotted rooms by 2:30 PM for the final attendance and to be ready for procession. Students are to Line up for the Procession outside Block I by 3:00 PM. Procession will start at 3:15 PM and will be led by the Class Teacher with a class representative carrying the placard. The order of the procession and the seating order inside the Main Auditorium are as follows BBA A, BBA B, BBA C, BBA D, BBAH A, BBAH B, BHM, BALLB A, BALLB B, BALLB C, BBALLB A, BBALLB B, LLM CAL, LLM CCL, LLM IPL, MAIS, MPHIL in LAW. During the Procession students are to wear the Robes and Hoods compulsorily. Throwing up of Hoods during the Procession is Strictly Prohibited. Students are to maintain complete silence during the Procession. When the procession of dignitaries led by the Registrar holding the National Flag and the Controller of Examinations holding Christ University Flag enter the Auditorium.University Anthem will be played. Students will receive the Convocation folder from the Chancellor in the same order of their seating in the Auditorium. As soon as the names are called, students are to use the Podium side stairs to get on to the stage and leave the stage through the left side stairs. Students should remember to greet the Chancellor, Chief Guest and Vice Chancellor soon after receiving the Graduation folder. Professional Photographers will be taking photographs of all the Students receiving convocation folder inside the Auditorium. Hence taking Photos privately during the function will not be permitted.
Entry into the Auditorium (Guests) is allowed only with valid Guest Passes. Students can register online for Guest Passes by paying the required amount through Smart Card. Students who registered for Passes online can collect the Guest Passes/Lunch Coupons from the Office of Examinations by producing their Identity Card. Online availability of Guest Passes on first come - first served basis. Guests are expected to be inside the Auditorium by 3: 1 5 PM. Availability of seats is on first come - first served basis. LCD Screens will be set up in PU Quadrangle to telecast the convocation ceremony. Maximum Guest Passes with lunch coupo1 costing Rs. 300/- per pass, available to a student is two only. Students can also avail extra lunch coupons for their Guests by paying Rs. 200/- per coupon. Maximum lunch coupons available to a student is five only. Student lunch coupons will be distributed to Graduating Students during the distribution of Robes in the allotted classes. Lunch will be served to the Students and their Guests at Basement, Block 4 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. Students and Guests are to produce the lunch coupons at the lunch counter.
GET PHOTOGRAPHED BY PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS WITH YOUR CONVOCATION ROBE Students can take individual and group photographs in the temporary studios arranged in campus by Raj Digital Studio. Photography is available from 8.00 AM to 2.00 PM on the day of convocation. Temporary robes and folders will be provided at the studio for the students who report between 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM Photographs can be collected within one hour after exposure. Payments to be made by the students directly at the studio counters. Delivery counters will be open till 7.30 PM.
