Anxiety in children can be similar or different than anxiety in adults. Learn about different anxiety states and disorders commonly seen in children and how anxiety impacts students at school. We will discuss how anxiety can be misperceived as other behavioral conditions. Through direct instruction, modeling of concepts and engaging activities, participants will communicate how emotion, environment and brain compatible lesson planning drives a successful lesson. Teachers will be able to take strategies back to the classroom to engage students. Participants will receive a summary of the ARD process, the IEP process and services provided to students with disabilities. Teachers will have a better understanding of Special Education. Participants will learn the difference between accommodations and modifications. Teachers will be able to determine and make distinctions between accommodations and modifications. Participants will receive an overview of Low-Tech to High-Tech assistive technology tools to get students communicating and participating throughout the school day.
