CSP Leadership Development Programme Introduction The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) believes that physiotherapy leadership will have a direct benefit to patient experience and outcomes. This programme offers you a unique opportunity to develop your leadership knowledge and skills. It has been designed, for physiotherapists, by the CSP in collaboration with Connect Oxford. A 10-month modular programme will be delivered using a variety of provoking, engaging and fun learning methods to allow you to learn from the programme team, yourself and your cohort colleagues. Consisting of: Personality Profiling and Reflective Learning Log Online '' Coaching Sessions 5 x 1 day Module Workshops 4 x 1 hour 'Virtual' Discussions and 3 x 2 hour Webinars Guide to Self- Directed Developement and Personal Development Plan 3 x 1 Day Action Learning Set Meetings In addition, you will work with your Action Learning Set colleagues to have at least one self-directed Action Learning Set meeting throughout the 10-month programme. To be eligible you will need to: wish to develop specific leadership skills and behaviours to achieve more from your current role lead or manage people and/or services but have not had formal development in these fields be a CSP member working in the South Central or North West regions 1. contribute to services delivered in the community (you may be employed in an acute, private or other organisation but patients will receive your services in non-hospital settings. Learning Methods, Time Commitment and Delivery Locations The programme has been designed to suit a range of different personalities and learning styles and will include workshops, webinars, personal reflective learning, group and paired activities, action learning and live online interactive both one-to-one and group. The module workshops will take place at the CSP Headquarters in London and Action Learning Set (ALS) meetings at an agreed regional location to be determined between you and your ALS colleagues. Fri 12 th Oct 2018 Fri 7 th Dec 2018. *This is a 9 month programme spread over 10 months, allowing time off during the summer period of month 8. Please note, as this is a personal development journey, there will be a need to undertake activities (such as personal reflection on your leadership practice, meeting with your mentor, developing and executing plans for enhancing your leadership skills) outside the attended elements of the Programme. There is not a specific requirement of hours to do these activities but you should be aware that they are part of the process of development and so the more you are able to do these activities, the more you can expect to progress in your leadership abilities. Fees: There will be no charge for taking part in the programme. The cost per participant has been estimated to be approximately 6000. The CSP Charitable Trust is providing significant funding to ensure this programme is delivered. One night of accommodation, including dinner, lunch and breakfast, between the residential events, will be provided by the CSP. Travel expenses are not covered. Participants and/or their organisations will be liable for the amount above if they choose to withdraw from the programme after enrolment, unless exceptional circumstances are evidenced. 5
Applications: Eligible members can apply for a place on the programme through an open application process. Please ensure you meet the eligibility criteria above and complete the application form below, ensuring you meet the criteria specified when writing your personal specification. There are only 48 places available, and we do expect demand to be high so early applications are advised 2.
