This part satisfies the oral requirement of the course. The awareness of the effects of interview techniques in media culture is the foundation for carrying out the role-play situation in which the adult learner demonstrates the ability to be an effective interviewer. The adult learner plans the interview by choosing the interviewee (sports figure, politician, actor, activist, etc.) and by preparing questions, techniques, strategies, etc. In this role-play situation the teacher is the interviewee. At the beginning of the interview, the student provides the audience with some contextualizing information on the interviewee or the topic explored. The student attempts to establish some sort of rapport with the interviewee, both before and while asking the questions they prepared. In addition, the student interjects spontaneous questions to encourage the interviewee to elaborate further.
