Scholarship Program for 2018 High School Graduates
2018 Scholarship Application Scholarship Requirements Scholarship applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements: Applicant must be a primary member in good standing for at least 90 days prior to the application deadline. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior that will be attending a college or university. Minimum GPA requirement will be set at 3.0 on a 4.0 scale / 3.5 on a 5.0 scale. Applicant must fully complete the Scholarship Application and return it to FCCU by January 6, 2018 for application to be considered by the committee. Selection Criteria: Applicant will be judged based on, but not limited to, the following criteria: Academic Achievement Character Leadership Community Involvement Letters of Recommendation (Applicant must use attached sheets and place in sealed envelope) Essay (See attached sheet for instructions) Submit the following to the address below on or before January 6, 2018: One original application One original copy of required essay One copy of most recent transcript (Transcript can be mailed directly to FCCU or include the sealed transcript from the school with mailed application.) SAT/ACT or Comparable Entrance Exam Scores Recommendation letters (Mail directly to FCCU or include with completed application submission) One personal recommendation letter, from a non-relative, in sealed envelope. All scholarship winners will be contacted personally and invited to the 2018 Annual Meeting where they will be announced and presented with the scholarship. Announcements will also be made in our enewsletter and website. If selected, pictures will be required for announcements in the newsletter and website. The decision of the Scholarship Committee is final. Scholarship winners are required to provide proof of college or university registration annually for scholarship to be funded. The Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the Financial Aid Office of the college or university. $1,000 will be paid up front with the remaining $3,000 paid out over the following three years as long as the student maintains a 2.5 GPA or higher, enrolls in a minimum of twelve semester hours each semester and maintains an FCCU membership in good standing.
