Well April was certainly a month to remember! Our Rock Challenge Team, on our very first Rock Challenge, won the regional heats at Portsmouth Guildhall last Monday, only to go on to perform, 48 hours later, in the regional finals! Our theme was based on the picture book Tuesday and told the tale of frogs leaving their lily-pads and causing as much mischief as they possibly could in one evening! Our children were just amazing - we are all so proud of them, including our stage crew who were double award winners!! We would like to offer all members of our community the opportunity to watch our final performance on our big screen in the hall at 8.30am and 3:00pm on Thursday 3rd May. Please come in through the main entrance. Members of the Rock Challenge team can all wear their t -shirts on that day in recognition of their amazing achievement. The buzz around the school is fantastic and we will start planning for next years performance after May half term - so if there are any parents who would be able to offer their creative services - we need you!! DVDs will be available to purchase from school in the next few weeks at a price of 3. As May begins we are just a few weeks away from Year 6 and Year 2 sittings their SATS. We plan to keep this as normal as possible. The children have worked very hard and are very prepared. Year 6 SATS weeks starts week beginning 14th May, with Year 2 also starting SATS that week and completing them the following week. Year 4 are off for their sleepover at The Spinnaker Tower at the end of the month, as well as Year 6 going to see the production of War Horse at the beginning of June - so lots of exciting things coming up! Mrs Jones I hope you enjoyed our brief taste of summer - we have had to put the heating back on in school! Fingers crossed the sun will come out soon. Mrs Jones
