Strong, Safe, Successful!!!! Greenmount State School Newsletter Term 1 Week 9 20th March 2017 GREENMOUNT SS takes a stand: NO WAY TO BULLIES! Today is The National Day against Bullying. This morning on parade I spoke to the children about bullying. We completed an activity on what is bullying and what is not. Thank you to the willing parents who completed this activity with their children and others. These activities will continue next week. We are busy decorating our fence to take a stand AGAINST BULLYING in our school. This is a very worthwhile lesson for kids because sometimes very young children confuse a disagreement with a friend as bullying. Our colour run will show our true colours against bullying. After School supervision At 3pm all students are to sit under the building until a parent collects them from their seat. Sporting schools children will sit and eat their afternoon tea. NO student is to run out to their parents as soon as they see them. Our school is growing each day in numbers and it is very important that all students are safe and follow the school expectations at all times. Children walking and riding their bikes home will be dismissed by the teacher on duty. A reminder that if you need to collect your child form school early you need to come up to the office and sign them out. Principal Conference. The biannual Principals Conference was very successful. Principals all over the state were present. The conference provided principals with the opportunity to: engage in an innovative and interactive learning environment with an array of emerging and highly experienced educational leaders; stimulate critical thinking and test ideas and concepts with colleagues; develop and collaborate on conference topics through real-time engagement capturing critical questions and diverse opinions; and strengthen communication and foster peer and support networks.
