Has your child s name form been turned in yet??? Name forms were handed out on Friday May 2. Also sent out in email to parents as attachment. You can do it tonight before you leave or we will use the name on your child s records.

Class Picture Will be taken Friday, May 9. All students will receive an 8X10 copy at celebration along with certificate. Large copy will become permanent addition to Alumnae Wall at CMS.

CHS Freshman Class Elections May 7-8-9; Wednesday to Friday Candidates must have report card with grades of C- or higher in all subjects. Obtain petition and get 30 signatures for the office of President, Secretary, or Treasurer. Prepare 2-3 minute speech and 3 posters. Election is on May 9, during Block 1, Class 1.

End of Year Activities Are a privilege, not a right. Can be rescinded if students are not fulfilling their academic contracts and following school policies. Please remind your son/daughter that school is in session until June 20. We expect appropriate behavior and successful completion of academic course work.

Final Exams There are NO Final Exams this year. Final assessments in each class as directed by the teacher/subject area. Students will be working right up to the last day of school.

Pool Party/Barbecue Monday, June 9 th, Noe Swim Club. 9:15 2:30 p.m. Bus transportation provided. Food/drink courtesy of PTO. Cooking by renowned mystery chefs.

Students should wear bathing suits to school under their regular clothing. Come to school at regular time. Bring towels, sunscreen, music devices. Students DO NOT have to swim. Plenty of other activities. Swimmers must pass a quick swimming test administered by Noe guards; form signed by parent. Back at CMS in time for dismissal/bus home. (Rain Date is June 13.) If it rains June 9, we will have a normal school day.

Drama Trip/ Dinner Dance June 11, 2014 Students have normal school day until 11:00, when they eat lunch in class. Board assigned bus at 11:30 a.m. Choose from following shows: Wicked, Motown, Of Mice and Men and Raisin in the Sun. Immediately after show, go to Hanover Marriott for dinner dance.

Dress for Show/Dinner Dance Girls should wear sensible dress, which could be worn out to dinner or a church event/comfortable shoes. Boys should wear collared shirt, tie (worn properly around neck), pants-not jeans, shoes not sneakers. No Jackets Have them dress at home, please.

No need to bring money, unless they want to purchase souvenirs. Leave music devices home. Cameras allowed at dinner dance only. We are in the Grand Ballroom with buffet style dinner and dancing (dj with props). Food stations include pasta(2), sub sandwich, tacos, ice cream sundaes, followed by snacky foods for remainder of dance. Chaperones will be eighth grade faculty.

Pick Up Time Students will get back to CMS at 9:45 p.m. Please arrange to be here or have a ride arranged for them. It is not a good idea to allow them to walk home in the dark, after a long day.

Awards Assembly Wednesday, June 18, 1:00 p.m. CMS auditorium Academic and Specials Awards Parents of award winners notified by mail, asked to attend (secretly, please) Ceremony followed by ice-cream social House Keys to be presented at Celebration

Eighth Grade Celebration Thursday, June 19, 6:30 p.m. Mennen Arena No tickets or reserved seats. Handicapped seating available ( Contact office) Speeches, House Keys, certificates/class picture A dignified evening Out of there by 8:00 p.m. Still time for dinner or party.

Last Day Friday, June 20th - half-day. All classes meet for 25 minutes. Final words of wisdom before moving on. Final dismissal from middle school 12:05 p.m.

The Bottom Line What is this all going to cost? You will be asked to fill out ONE permission slip for all activities. You will be asked to write ONE check to cover all activities: class picture, folder, certificates, bus to NYC and Hanover Marriott, Broadway ticket, dinner dance, dj, Noe pool party with bus transportation, Celebration at Mennen Arena all yours for the cost of

$100 Scholarships are available let us know. We want ALL members of the class to be able to attend ALL of the activities.
