Accommodation BE PART OF A FAMILY... Homestay gives you the opportunity to experience the English way of life at first hand and to practise your English outside the classroom. All families providing Homestay accommodation are carefully selected by our experienced accommodation managers and are revisited every year. Our families do everything they can to welcome you to their friendly homes and to make your stay happy and successful. Most families are within easy reach of the centre and are normally less than 25 minutes walk away. You can choose a single or shared room - shared is with a student of a different nationality so you speak English together. All families provide half board with breakfast and evening meal Monday to Friday and all meals at weekends. Full board is also possible with your mid-day meal at the centre or a local restaurant. Other accommodation options for Adults include private homes, flats, bed-sits, guesthouses or hotels. All students are accommodated in very modern residential flats on the campus, each student having their own bedroom. For students who choose full board, all meals are served in the campus dining room. Lessons are in the mornings and there is a varied programme of sports and activities in the afternoons and evenings with excursions to interesting places at weekends. English Programme At Churchill House our Summer English Courses are not only designed to improve our students level of fluency, but also to raise their confidence levels and, of course, to be engaging and fun. Our teachers are all dedicated professionals who have experience of teaching young adults and adults in a summer school environment. COURSES & CLASSES Our aim is always to make your stay with us effective and enjoyable. Our teachers are professional and enthusiastic, helping you to learn as much useful English as possible. Each summer we welcome students from over 60 different countries so you learn in truly international surroundings. Classes are small (average 12 maximum 15) and cover a wide range of levels. You are tested on or before arrival and an interview with your Course Director ensures you are placed at the correct level for your abilities. Our lessons motivate you by using a wide range of language activities designed above all to improve your ability to communicate fluently. Your welfare and enjoyment is of prime importance and the resident Course Director is always there to help, supported by a team of resident staff. Activity Programme At Churchill House we want you to have a really enjoyable summer holiday as well as learn a lot of English. Although the activities programme is optional, we strongly recommend that you book it as part of your stay with Churchill House, as it provides a great opportunity to have fun and socialise with students from around the world. THE SOCIAL CLUB Our Social Club team has more than 20 years experience between them in organising leisure activities for students of English. Their objective is to make your learning through a leisure programme as successful and rewarding as possible. The school is unique in owning its own pub The Churchill Tavern, and its own private club, The Clubroom, where your first experience will be the Welcome Party on arrival and where we are sure we will see you for our famous weekly disco. You will be able to mix with other students and local people at our Karaoke, Cabaret and Quiz evenings. We place great importance on providing you with a varied and wellorganised weekly evening programme. RAMSGATE The county of Kent the Garden of England has some of the UK s most beautiful countryside. Ramsgate is close to historic Kentish towns such as Canterbury, Broadstairs and Sandwich but less than two hours away from London and even nearer to France. With its lovely beach, colourful harbour and a population of only 42,000, Ramsgate is a safe and peaceful place to study away from the noise and pollution of the big city; a wonderful place for a rewarding and relaxing summer holiday. Ramsgate Harbour CHURCHILL HOUSE In a 19th century square overlooking the sea, the school is within easy walking distance of the town centre. Our courses are truly multinational we often have students representing over 40 countries from all over the world here at any one time. As one of the largest schools in England we are able to offer a wide range of courses and class levels; there are starting dates throughout the summer with courses lasting 2 to 10 weeks. INTENSIVE COURSES Most Summer Courses have 15 hours of lessons per week. You can also book courses with 20 or 25 hours of lessons depending on your start date. These courses can be General English only or General English plus a choice of Electives including exams (TOEFL, IELTS), cultural subjects (arts, drama), business and skills development. 7

The campus is only 10 minutes from our Ramsgate School and therefore benefits from many of the activities that are organised by The Churchill House Social Club. HOMESTAY The host families are all within 30 minutes of Northwood Court and many have been looking after Churchill House students for years. There is a frequent bus service between the host families and the campus that allows our students to travel with ease. AND MORE... Northwood Court is close to many beautiful beaches and only minutes from the stunning Kent countryside, but it also only a five minute walk from one of East Kent s biggest shopping centres. Royal Russell School Croydon, London Homestay: 16 to 19 Start Date: 10th July Course Length: 2 to 6 weeks THE SCHOOL Royal Russell School is a traditional English boarding school set in beautiful woodland and has Her Majesty the Queen as a Patron. The School has excellent facilities and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet is only minutes from Croydon with easy access to London. HOMESTAY All the host family areas are linked to the tram system providing a simple way for our students to travel from their host families to the centre. Royal Russell School AND MORE... In addition to the half day and full day excursions of the standard activity programme students at Royal Russell also travel into London by train every Tuesday afternoon to see one of the City s many attractions. How to Enrol and More... ENROLMENT To book your course, fill in the Enrolment Form and English Ability Questionnaire and send it to us as early as possible. Send the enrolment fee of 100 with your enrolment form in order to reserve a place. You will then receive a Certificate of Enrolment with exact details of your course and fees. Pay the balance of your fees as soon as possible. The 100 enrolment fee will be deducted from the total price of your course. All fees must be paid before commencement of your course. TRAVEL Students over 16 years old can book either our coach transfer service which leaves Heathrow and Gatwick airports at fixed times on our official starting dates or book our individual taxi service which can pick you up from anywhere at any time.
