ITP and NSL 2016 Ottawa Summer Camp ITP in collaboration with NSL Camps in Ottawa-Canada, warmly invites you to join us in Summer 2015 for an English Language Program and Camp experiences of a lifetime! A. CANADIAN CAMPING EXPERIENCE WITH LOCAL CANADIAN STUDENTS Known for its architecture and natural beauty, Ottawa is a showcase of Canadian history and culture. Canada s fourth largest city, Ottawa is home to over 60 festivals, 30 museums, and 50 galleries and theatres. It is ideally located for side trips to Toronto, Niagara Falls, Montreal and Quebec City. This program was intended to create a community in the area, thereby allowing applicants to experience real-time dynamic Canadian culture. Interacting with Canadian/foreign friends is sure to give our children meaningful and longlasting memories to cherish. B. LEARN ENGLISH WITH FRIENDS For many students, this is their first experience studying English intensively and for others it is their first time away from home alone. They arrive with apprehension but leave with newly learned English language skills, self-confidence and friends from around the world. This once in a lifetime experience, which combines language learning with leadership training, allows them to mature, learn to be independent and flourish. The happy smiles on their C. SPEAK ENGLISH WITH CONFIDENCE On the first day, all students are given both an oral and a written test. Each student is placed in a small group class based on the results of their tests and their age. 6 levels of instruction from Beginner to Proficiency are offered. All teachers hold B.Ed degree, certified ESL teachers by the Ministry of Education and have had experience teaching English as a second language. Students are tested before assigned to their classes based on 6 different levels with other international students.. 2
E. COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH English language programs is accredited by Languages Canada and use a specialized curriculum for children and youth based on a communicative approach. Through real-life situations, students quickly learn to communicate in English in a natural and progressive manner. Students learn all four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. F. QUALITY CARE Students are carefully monitored to ensure their safety, health and happiness at all times. The camps responsible leaders receive training in First Aid and CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation). All leaders are positive role models providing leadership to the students as well as helping them to speak English in a relaxed and fun environment. G. Program # 2: English Immersion without Afternoon Activities Full Day English Classes of 30 lessons a week and learning materials Small group classes, 6 levels from Beginner to Proficiency 7 hours of fun on campus activities each week progress reports & certificate.
