About Homestay Learn more about Canadian Culture! Students stay in a Canadian home in a single room. Three meals are provided daily (students take a packed lunch to school). Students have breakfast before leaving, bring their lunch from home and have dinner once they return home. On the weekend students dine at home with their homestay family. During activities, students may bring a lunch from home or choose to purchase lunch at their own expense. Homestay provides students with the opportunity to use their language in real-life situations. They get a first-hand look at the way Canadians live. In Canada, it is common for both the homestay hostess and host to work outside of the home during the day. Students are responsible for going to school and returning to homestay after school and activities. Fees do not include personal spending money, snacks, transportation or any other entertainment expenses during free nights.
