Page 3 Abbeyfield Visit Last Wednesday the Senior students enjoyed the opportunity to join with the residents and staff of Abbeyfield to celebrate Mass together. Students enjoyed sharing books and chatting before the Eucharist began. Athletic Sports Our Athletics sports with St Thomas Terang on Friday at Terang was a tremendous success with students enjoying the opportunity to perform well and enjoy sharing the day with others. Thank you to the parents who attended the day and congratulations to Gold on their win. Stranger Danger Last week an incident happened when a student felt uncomfortable when approached by an unknown person in the streets of Mortlake. Thankfully the child recognised their own concerns and fled quickly. It is a timely reminder to speak to your children about important ways to stay safe in our community.
Page 4 Fee Payment Arrangements At the beginning of the year notes were sent home explaining our fee structure and it stated that we require at least one payment towards school fees before the end of term one. This applies to those who have not signed up to direct debit. Division Swimming We had two students, Henry and Tai who progressed to the Division Swimming Carnival last Wednesday in Warrnambool. They both competed in the 11 years 50m freestyle event and performed admirably in a very strong field. Well done boys for representing our school so well. Foundation Students With the Public Holiday yesterday the Foundation students will be attending school on Wednesday to give them their 4 day week. Just a reminder that next term they will attend all five weekdays. Music Tuition We have had enquiries about seeking a music teacher to work at school to conduct individual or group guitar lessons during or after school. If you would be a strong possibility of participating in this, could you please contact the school as soon as possible. Dental Van The initial screening for the dental van will take place tomorrow, Wednesday the 15th of March. Thank you to the parents who have returned their forms so promptly. No Buses There will be no buses running on Thursday the 30th of March. Please make alternative arrangements for transport to and from school on this day. PLC Progress Report On Thursday we will be visited by Hawker Brownlow representative Colin Sloper for a progress report on the work we have done in PLC. This process is designed to be developmental rather than evaluative and will identify the things the school should celebrate and the next steps for the school as it continues its PLC journey.
