Finalist Frenzy When: October 21, 2017 Where: The Ohio State University Students and chapters competing in National level leadership development events, Agriscience Fair, National Chapter Awards Program, Proficiency Finalist, and Star Finalist are invited to attend this practice session to prepare for their National competition. Natural Resource Professional Development When: November 2-3, 2017 Where: Columbus, Ohio In conjunction with the Tree Care Industry Expo, this two-day professional development will center around courses and standards in the A6 Natural Resources Pathway. New Teacher Success Series - Small Engines Workshop When: November 8, 2017 Where: Eastland Fairfield Career Center This one day workshop will focus on the Small Air Cooled Engines Unit in the Agribusiness & Production Systems Mechanical Principals Course. Teachers will have received industry resources and professional hands on training. Ag & Industrial Power Professional Development When: November 9-10, 2017 Where: Eastland Fairfield Career Center This two-day professional development will center on the Agricultural & Industrial Power course in the A1 Industrial Power Technology Pathway through hands-on training with industry partners. Key updates on tier 4 emissions, M Series tractor, and welding and metal fabrication training resources will be shared.
Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Bioscience Professional Development When: November Where: TBD This agriculture course examines the research, marketing, processing, and packaging techniques applied to the development of food products. Attendees will discuss careers available in this industry, and conduct hands-on laboratories for their classroom on nutrients, chemistry, and food safety & quality. Leaders development and effectively managing an FFA chapter will be the topics discussed, along with classroom practices. National Chapter Critique When: May 24, 2018 4:30-8:30 PM This application critique will focus on the best practices identified during the National Selection process maximizing the readability and overall quality of National Chapter Award applications. A strategic review of the scoring rubrics will be provided during the critique. Ohio Agriscience Fair Report Critique When: May 30, 2018 This report critique focuses on preparing state winning Agriscience fair reports to be pre-judged in the National FFA qualifying process. Reports are reviewed and suggestions for corrections will be made.
Ohio Proficiency Award Critique When: May 31, 2018 This award critique is focused on preparing state winning proficiency applications to be judged in the National FFA process. Award Applications will be looked over and suggestions for corrections will be made. Summer Agricultural Education Conference When: June 12-14, 2018 Where: The Ohio State University Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center The Agricultural Education Summer Conference is a professional conference designed for teachers of agriculture to network and get the latest on classroom resources. The content delivered at this conference is standards based, Industry and post-secondary connect and student centered. Teacher are issued contact hours for their participation, and are encouraged to attend the Ohio Association of Agricultural Educators banquet and activities. Consider attending this exciting professional development in future years it will not disappoint!
