DELEGATE INFORMATION April 11-13, 2018 Sheraton Red Deer Hotel 3310 50 Ave. Red Deer, AB T4N 3X9 2018 ASCHA Convention & Tradeshow Arrive at value-based solutions to promote aging in community Arrive at value-based solutions to promote aging in community Discover commonalities while embracing alternatives Discover commonalities while embracing alternatives Converse to learn, not persuade Converse to learn, not persuade Acknowledge the greater good at the heart of all our work Acknowledge the greater good at the heart of all our work Explore advocacy goals rooted in our shared purpose Welcome new information and challenge assumptions Network and build professional relationships Common Understandings Create Common Ground

Everything seems to be about responding to change nowadays. We hear about change so much in our industry, and in general, that all this focus on change needs to well change. How do we find our centre, focus on what s truly important, and make impactful inroads towards a shared goal? We need to find our common ground to ensure that Albertans have the right housing in the right place at the right time. Our advocacy efforts, education and public awareness initiatives are only as effective as our shared understandings and approaches to things, and ultimately our understanding of one another. Influencing factors such as changing demographics, shifting priorities, competing agendas, political environments, economic climates and other challenges can become diversions that take us off course. These singular problems and issues are usually outside of our immediate control and make the bigger picture blurry. We can spend our efforts fighting uphill battles, and searching for what makes us unique and different. The result is fragmentation and confusion, and it is not in the best interest of Albertans. The 2018 ASCHA Convention & Tradeshow invites you to explore what we all have in common the positive ideas and shared purpose at the heart of everything that we do. Reconnect with other housing leaders, have new conversations about the things that matter most, and learn a few new things you never thought about before. KEYNOTE SPEAKER, JOHN STIX John Stix is an I m In transformation specialist. Having helped lead multiple organizations and their people, starting with his own, Fibernetics the 5th largest Telecom company in Canada and through a holistic shift in culture, strategy and values-based actions, he has honed the skills to masterfully shift mentalities, actions and organizations. John credits his significant personal transformation with enabling him to lead his company through necessary change. John s success with workplace culture and helping others discover the same journey for themselves, has led him to consult and speak across the world. He has led an international team by example and empowerment. He witnessed the positive change that occurred within his own company when he decided to focus on unity, teamwork, empathy, happiness and gratitude. After introducing his I m In corporate initiative, John received the Best Employer Branding award in 2015 from the Canadian Human Resources Association and was also a finalist for Leader of the Year. As an entrepreneur, John has been a visionary, thought leader and mentor; taking start-ups to enterprise-level organizations and figuring out innovative ways to keep all employees highly engaged, through all stages of growth and transformation. John emphasizes that his plan to deeply care for and empower employees and allow them to be their true selves, not only translated into a passion, but to personal happiness. Happiness then led to productivity, and productivity led to the results. His casual, engaging, and thought provoking delivery allows him to connect with all audiences. John is known to receive standing ovations from some of the trickiest audiences out there. Best of all, John will be with us for the entire event! EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS The 2018 Convention & Tradeshow offers a mix of interactive, brainstorming and best practice breakout sessions to ensure participants receive as many tools as possible to best meet their own personal or organizational needs. Eight sessions have been selected to specifically target member-identified topics for learning and growth.
