1 Getting Started 1. Go to http://portal.riversidepublishing.com 2. Type in your ID and Password. Then click Submit. 3. From the GMRT Welcome screen, select the Reports tab. 4. Then select irm Reporting. Navigation within irm Once logged in to irm, each display shows the following information: 1 2 4 3 05.09.2012 page 3

1 Assessment Information The top of the screen displays the name of the assessment and date of the assessment. 2 Action Icons: These icons allow you to perform specific functions within irm. Logoff: Logoff will end the irm session. Print: This allows the user to print the graph in the display window. PDF: This allows the user to export a display into an Adobe PDF file. Excel: This allows the user to export a display into Microsoft Excel. Glossary: The Glossary opens up a list of terms and definitions used in irm. Help: Help gives access to Riverside s Software Support. 3 4 Display Area: The Display Area is where the selected data is displayed. Navigational Tool Bar: The Navigational Tool Bar allows for specific selections for an assessment data graph. For best results when using the Navigational Tool Bar, select the Display Type first, followed by selections from each of the other options in sequence, starting from the top. The following criteria can be selected: Display Type: Use to select the desired report. Grade/Level: The Grade/Level option allows selection of the grade and test level to display. Building: The Building option allows for selection of all buildings within the district or a specific school for which to display data. Class: If a building was selected above, then the Class option allows selection of all classes within the school or class for which to display data. Score Type: Depending on the assessment and the display selected, this option allows the user to select from such score types as NPR, GE, NCE, etc. Students Coded in Column Z: If the district or region opted to use supplemental coding, this feature allows disaggregation with students coded in Column Z or to exclude them. Content Area: The Content option allows for the selection of the data from all content areas or selected content areas. Disaggregation: Data can be displayed for all or specific genders, races/ethnicities, programs, and/or administrative codes. 05.09.2012 page 4

2 Roster Display The Roster Display is an alphabetical list of student scores on GMRT. The Roster Display allows for various sorting and filtering options such as sorting by scores (from high to low or low to high) and filtering for scores above, below or between a specified score. Rank Ordering within the Roster Display 1. From the Display Menu, select Roster Display. 2. The Display Area will show an alphabetical list of students in the selected group. 05.09.2012 page 5

3. To sort scores from low to high or high to low, click on the up or down arrow in column title of the subtest or test total for which you want to rank scores. 4. Once the report refreshes, the report will show the column ranked high to low or low to high. The arrow by the column title will be filled in, showing the direction of the ranking. Filtering the Roster Display 1. Select Show Filter(s) 2. Select the Content Area/Test. 3. Select the criteria to use (less than, equal to or greater than, etc). 4. Type in the desired cut score. 5. If an additional filter is needed, select the content area, the criteria, and type in the score. 6. Three filters may be used. 7. Select Apply Filter and the display will change to show the applied filter(s). 8. Select Cancel Filter(s) to return to the entire list of students. 05.09.2012 page 6

3 Student Display The Student Display provides the results for each student on GMRT. The Student Display can be accessed in three (3) ways: from the Display menu, from within the Roster Display, and by searching for a student by their last name. Selecting a Student Report from the Display Menu 1. From the Display Menu, select Student Display. 2. The report for the first student alphabetically in the first class alphabetically will be shown. 05.09.2012 page 7

3. To view a different student s results, select a student name from the Student button on the left navigation menu. Selecting a Student Report from the Roster Display 1. From the Roster Display, select the name of the student from the alphabetical list. 2. The selected student s report will be shown. 05.09.2012 page 8

4 Student Label Display The Student Label Display allows users to print labels with student GMRT scores. Selecting the Student Label Display 1. From the Display option, choose Student Label Display. 2. The report will display. 05.09.2012 page 9

5 Student Word Decoding Skills Display The Student Word Decoding Skills Display shows the Skill Category and number of errors made by each student in a class on the Word Decoding subtest of GMRT Level 1 or 2 test (form S and form T). Skill Categories can be expanded to see the exact errors students made on the subtest. Selecting the Student Word Decoding Skills Roster Display 1. From the Display option, choose Student Word Decoding Skills Roster Display. 2. To expand a Skill Category area, click on the Plus sign to the left of the skill category. 05.09.2012 page 10

3. The question number, the skill assessed, the category, the correct word, and the student s incorrect choice will be shown. 05.09.2012 page 11

6 Student Longitudinal Display The Student Longitudinal Display provides longitudinal test data for students. Selecting the Student Longitudinal Display 1. From the Display option, select Student Longitudinal Display. 2. The student s scores on every administration of GMRT online will be shown. The student s performance is also compared to the performance of an average student who took the same test. 05.09.2012 page 12

7 Group Roster Display The Group Roster Display provides the average score of the selected group (building, class, etc) for each subtest and the total score of GMRT. Selecting the Group Roster Display 1. From the Display option, choose Group Roster Display. 2. Selecting the link for the teacher name will provide the Group Display for the selected teacher. 05.09.2012 page 13

9 Group Population Skills Display The Group Population Display provides the scores for GMRT by subgroups (gender, ethnicity, programs). Selecting the Group Population Skills Display 1. From the Display option, choose Group Population Skills Display. 2. The report will display. 05.09.2012 page 15

10 Group Longitudinal Display The Group Longitudinal Display provides two views of group results over time. The first, Bucket Consecutive Grade shows previous test events for a group over the course of several years. The second, Bucket Same Grade, shows how a particular grade level has performed on previous year s test events. Selecting the Group Longitudinal Display 1. From the Display option, select Group Longitudinal Display. 2. The report will display, defaulting to the option Bucket Consecutive Grade. Bucket Consecutive Grade shows previous test events for a group over the course of several years. This will allow you to see how a group (i.e., 4 th grade) performed this year, how that group of students performed last year on the level 3 test, how they performed the year before that on the level 2 test, etc. 05.09.2012 page 16

3. You can change the display to show Bucket Same Grade. Bucket Same Grade, shows how a particular grade level has performed on previous year s test events. For example, the report will show how 4 th grade students performed this year, how the 4 th grade students last year performed on the same level test, and how the 4 th grade students two years ago performed on the same level test. 05.09.2012 page 17

11 Word Decoding Skills Roster Display The Word Decoding Skills Roster Display shows the number and category of errors made by class on the Word Decoding subtest of GMRT Levels 1 and 2 test (form S and form T). This alphabetical list of students allows for various sorting and filtering options such as sorting by number of errors (from high to low or low to high) and filtering for the number of errors above, below or between a specified number. Selecting the Word Decoding Skills Roster Display 1. From the Display option, choose Word Decoding Skills Roster Display. 2. 3. Once the report refreshes, the report will show the column ranked high to low or low to high. The arrow by the column title will be filled in, showing the direction of the ranking. 12 Class Word Decoding Skills Display The Class Word Decoding Skills Display provides the overall number of errors made by a class on each of the Skills in GMRT Levels 1 or 2 (Form S and Form T). Selecting the Class Word Decoding Skills Display 1. From the Display option, choose Class Word Decoding Skills Display. 2. The report displays the total number of errors. 05.09.2012 page 22
